- From US$93.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 256 reviewsThis is my third visit to Santiago and 3rd stay at this hotel! The location is excellent for the purpose of my visit, as its located in a beautiful area of the city and in a walking distance to almost everything. The Plateau (where the hotel is located) is a very classic area of the city with beautiful buildings and streets. Very easy and safe to walk, and many food options at walking distance. The hotel service is excellent, from the General Manager to the Housekeeping ladies. All do their best for your comfort, and make sure you have what you need. They also provide airport shuttle (paid) at request, and the driver will be waiting at the airport with your name. If I return to Praia, no doubt will be there again.Guest review byAlbertoMozambique
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 279 reviewsOur experience was a wonderful one. From the walk introducing us to the location to the mosquito netting in each room, the service and facilities truly matched the B&B feel. The food was delicious and the sustainability and care for use was always present. The people were kind and generous with their time, and their pleasantry was almost infectious. Dinner is made in a very small kitchen and the wait is a bit longer than usual, but the food was spectacular and the patio area, with the sea and its sound in the distance, made the wait worthwhile. We would recommend it fully, even thought the surrounding area still needs developing the overall environment is lovely and worth the stay.Guest review byAntonioCape Verde

It's a great place, just be care if you are a woman.
It's a great place, just be care if you are a woman. Do NOT go out alone or at night. My housemate and I went to a beach that was 6-7 walking minutes away. It was absolutely lovely. We went at 6pm and left at 8pm. It was dark. Unfortunately 2 masked children (of about 12) tried to "jump" us with knives. I've been traveling for 30 years and robbed 7 times before (including this; that averages out to 1/4 years and I AM VERY WHITE, with blue eyes, blond hair and stand out in certain places, so I may be an "easy target". Still, I've never had knives drawn on me. So PLEASE be careful, especially if you are women. BE SMART. I wasn't. Thankfully all I walked away with was some PTSD and bad memories, but they had masks & REAL KNIVES and it could have been VERY BAD.Guest review byJessicaBelgium - 10
Tarrafal by itself is nice to visit for a few days.
Tarrafal by itself is nice to visit for a few days. Beach, good restaurants, you can do hikes on Monte Graciosa, and Tras os Montes. Restaurant 'chez mama' has some hiking maps. And good food too. I spent most of my time fishing. From the rocks at Punta Atum, of from a boat. One thing to keep in mind. Tarrafal in August is hot. You can go up to Serra Malagueta where it is cooler. But rainy in August.Guest review byJanNetherlands - 8.0
Nice beach, clean but poor surroundings.
Nice beach, clean but poor surroundings. The proximity with the airport (35 min.) makes it a potential nice destination. The city should promote more actively the destination in order to attract developers which could renew the houses we can see from the beach and which are falling apart. Hopefully in the future this can be done and attract more visitors and have additional hotels. The potential exists.Guest review byGerardSwitzerland - 4.0
Crowded and chaotic city, far from the peaceful atmosphere...
Crowded and chaotic city, far from the peaceful atmosphere found on the other Cape Verde islands. The local population generally doesn’t speak English and often seems offended if you don’t speak to them in Portuguese. Tourists are frequently stared at, which can make you feel a bit out of place, and the overall impression is that visitors aren’t always welcome. We had a bad experience in Praínha, where persistent children came up asking for money, while older men seemed to be eyeing our bags left on the towels. We ended up having to leave immediately by taxi. Outside of the Plateau—the only area recommended for tourists and heavily patrolled by military and police—you don’t really feel safe.Guest review byGrazia PennisiItaly - 10
Very cosy little town with nice beach and friendly local...
Very cosy little town with nice beach and friendly local people. You can eat very affordable in local bars/restaurants or choose European food in couple of restaurants. The center is quite small, so you walk around easy. Beach is nice and not too much people.Guest review byHeli - 10
Actually I’m a Nigerian.
Actually I’m a Nigerian. When I traveled there I found it difficult to communicate in Cape Verde due to I can’t speak Portuguese. But there are another islands that they do speak English there. in this country 99% people speaks Portuguese. So that’s just my experience. But the was nice and peacefulGuest review byAnonymous
