It was the third time we stayed in the Burghotel Scharfenstein. We love the location - it's so quiet and close to a forest, so you can go for a nice walk. Rooms are cosy and very comfortable. And the food is great - both in the restaurant and the breakfast.

We liked everything. The hosts were the nicest, the apartment was very comfortable, we had a good rest. Breakfast was already prepared in the room and we received warm bread in the morning. Nice and quite village, a good layover on our way from Prague.

    A very big spacious room with a balcony, and a kitchen place, the price was this apartment was quite reasonable. The hotel itself located on the hill with a beautiful view from the window. It is a small local owned hotel. The owner of the place was very attentive and ready to help. Overall, a perfect place to chill out for a weekend and to explore local town and surrounding hills. By the way, nearby is located the monument of the geographical center of Germany and also Mount Brocken in Harz can be seen from local hills. Danke fuer die Unterkunft !

    After a long drive staying at this pension in rural Germany is well worth the short detour from the motorway. The location is quiet and exactly what is required for a good night's sleep. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfast next morning ( 10 euro per person) excellent. It set us up for another long day on the road. We were there in November and not in tourist mode but I expect at other times of year this would be a good base to explore the region.

    Perfect for us as it’s a half way break from our residence to Dresden. Typical ex DDR (East Germany) village. Just behind the hotel there was a very good ice cream parlour and a couple of nice restaurants.
