- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 827 reviewsThe staff was super super friendly! Good food and calm environment Beautiful location close to the river and vineyards The pool and sauna area was just perfect to relax Loved the room Easy parking On top of this, I selected the hotel to pass there my girlfriend’s birthday, and without me asking for anything, the hotel decorated our breakfast table with some birthday items, gifted her a small champagne bottle and a cupcake with a candle. I couldn’t be happier with the hotel. Thank you all very much.Guest review byVazLuxembourg

Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge.
Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge. City center is nice. The roman museum was a bit of a let down - all signs in German, and even with the audio guide most items did not have any explanation. City center did not have that many restaurants.Guest review bygregohbUnited States - 8.0

A nice little town with a lovely castle but other than visiting the castle not much to do unless you are a hiker so would only recommend a short stay. Very little variance in for, too many pizza joints.Guest review byDouglasCanada - 10.0

WE have been before and it is still a great place to stay, on the river with boat trips, good roads to Trier etc, many wine tasting locations are within walking distance, it gets busy in the day but evenings when the coaches have gone it is really lovely!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Both towns are scenic in terms of architecture and the Mosel. Good restaurants, an Aldi and an Edeka for groceries. Good museum of the area. Two days is ample for seeing everything and relaxing. Also a good location for taking a boat trip, which is lovely. Already quiet by early September.Guest review byDEBORAHUnited States - 10.0

Very good for walking - great trails, well-waymarked. Quite a good choice of restaurants for a small town. But there is no supermarket - only a post office with a few items of food, but no fruit or yogurt.Guest review byTim SpantonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Family vacation house on the Mosel
Family vacation house on the Mosel 3 generations of one family (and a dog) – spent here 2 nights in May, 2024. This house is a very good place for family vacation: 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with a dinner table, a living room and 2 good bathrooms. Pet-friendly – this is fortunately typical for Germany. Distances: ~ 100m from Mosel. ~ 1.3 km to Edeka supermarket, ~ 7 km to Cochem center. There are also 2 minor “cons”: no dishwash machine and no Mosel view. Friendly host. Recommended for family vacation.Guest review bySergey VorobyevNetherlands - 10.0
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking.
Treis-Karden is a good base to go hiking. The hiking trail to Burg Eltz was very nice, I did the black route. The last part is the heaviest part. I went to the viewing point of the castle and then went back. I did that because there is an entrance fee that you have to pay for the castle, even if you just want to order food and drinks. In the afternoon I went to Mörsdorf to visit the Geierlay hanging bridge, which was awesome. Note that the bus (line 746) does not go there every hour and that the line is not currently on Google Maps. So search online for the schedule or visit the tourist office in the train station. During my stay the buses ran from the water-side of the station instead of the official bus stop, so double check if that is the case for you. Both these things could have been their own day, since there are more hiking trails available in both places.Guest review byAri FijanNetherlands - 10.0
