It was very clean in rooms, so clean and new bed textile, regular daily room cleaning. It was exceptionally polite personnel, staff at the front desk helped to solve all questions. It is also convenient, that there is a big parking right behind the corner of the hotel. I would like to emphasize that the breakfast was simply amazing: home made style of omelette was combined with selection - 8 salads, 9 mild cheese, 6 hard cheese, salmon, sausages, meatballs. You could have as well serials, croissants, toasts, joghurts, and what is amazing - champagne! I have read in previous comments, that railway near hotel makes noise and I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel staff took the complaints into consideration and earplugs were provided for everyone in the rooms. But actually we didn't hear the noise, it depends which side faced the window. Great size, air conditioning worked a treat and the bathroom was lovely. The beds were also super comfortable. It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine.
It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine. If you are looking for something less sleepy and has more shopping, restaurants and winery this is a great option. All ferries/cruises stop here so it is easy to get to as well. One thing to note is that it gets crowded with the larger river cruises stop for the day or night but we didn't mind as it added a fun energy to the town and the shops were open.Guest review byMeganUnited States - 10

Pretty little town set on the Rhine. The houses are colourful and diverse styles making it a pleasure just to walk the streets and admire them. The walking path west along the Rhine was great for early morning 10km jogs. There are lots of little clothes shops to visit if you like shopping. Ostrich-Winkel is a hidden treasure! This enchanting town is straight out of a fairytale, with its charming crooked streets, inviting restaurants, and an atmosphere that feels both magical and welcoming. The panoramic views are simply stunning - every turn reveals another picture-perfect moment. Highlights of my visit included exploring the quirky Kauters Corner, discovering local pizza craftsmanship at the Ostreich Factory, and enjoying an absolutely delicious meal at Athenas Mediterrane . The Greek restaurant served authentic flavors with warm hospitality that made the experience even more special. For anyone seeking a delightful blend of history, charm, and culinary delights, Ostrich-Winkel is a must-visit. The town is a tourist magnet, but for those who know the Rheingau also a Mecca, neighbouring Gesienheim has the University where many Rheingau wine makers will have studied. The whole Rheingau is within reach, the steep Rüdesheim vineyards above the town are wonderful and peaceful for walking, those with less energy can take the chairlift. We tried the Spanish restaurant near the Bahnhof and Breuer's Schloss restaurant opposite (4 metres away) from the Hotel Lindenwirt where we stayed and also ate and drank. It is a cosy, little town.
It is a cosy, little town. I was off-season and only for one night, so the town wasn't bustling with people. I arrived by train and it is very walkable city. If I have arrived by car, I would probably get irritated as there was a relatively large traffic jam when I left the train station and entire one-way street was filled with cars. I believe the entire region is best to be travelled by public transportation or bike or combination thereof. If you are hoping to try local wines, you would be better choosing another town, (or perhaps a hotel in the town centre) my stay by the station was not near anywhere to eat or sample local wines. I came to Rüdesheim for peace and quiet and beautiful scenery, and I was not disappointed! I did observe that the tourist crowd tends toward older people. The Drosselgasse can get quite lively during the evening, but on a Monday night, the whole town seems to shut down around 10pm. This may not be an ideal vacation hotspot for the young, hip, 20-30-something crowd, but if you are looking for natural beauty, local history, and a nice, quiet, chill community to spend a few days, then I'd definitely recommend Rüdesheim!Guest review byKatherineUnited States
