- From $179.68 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 1,024 reviewsThe setting is wonderful--an early 20th century industrialist's home set in a huge meadow-like park on the bank of the Saar river. The building was constructed with excellent materials: oak parquet floors. marble wainscotting. coffered wooden beam ceilings in the public rooms. All the tableware at dinner and breakfast in the formal dining rooms are excellent: not a surprise when I learned that it owned by the Villeroy & Boch company, whose factory in Mettlach makes it all!Guest review byPeter BUnited States

I was very impressed with the level of service – the staff responded to all my requests incredibly quickly, even during late hours, which was much appreciated. The room was spotless, and I couldn’t find anything lacking; it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. If I ever return to Trier, I will definitely choose Hotel Constantin again!Guest review byMarineArmenia

Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge.
Wonderful visit to the black gate, free of charge. City center is nice. The roman museum was a bit of a let down - all signs in German, and even with the audio guide most items did not have any explanation. City center did not have that many restaurants.Guest review bygregohbUnited States - 10.0

The Bitburger Brewery is the main attraction in Bitburg and it's a great tour. You need to tell them in advance if you want an English tour but if you know a bit of German then it's fine! You get some drinks vouchers for the bar at the end and also to use in local pubs - just tell them that's what you plan to do when you arrive. After the tour we had some Birburgers in the Bitburger Bierhaus and also some food - nothing gourmet but definitely enough to fill you up! We also played golf at Bitburger Land Golf Course - nice clubhouse although the course was a bit wet in April - in a few weeks it should be great, just very hilly!Guest review byChrisAustria - 8.0

We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!Guest review byNicoleBelgium - 8.0
Very nice wine area! Ideal for the wine lover!
Very nice wine area! Ideal for the wine lover! You can taste red, white and rose wines (including sparkling and dessert wines) with a variety of qualities. we visited a few wine producers in the area and they offered a tasting free of charge without any obligation. We had a nice 5 course degustation menu with accompanying wines in Hotel Weis. It is also worthwhile trying the Flamkuche in the local restaurants. People in the area are generally very friendly.Guest review byJohanBelgium - 10.0

Mettlach is a charming small town in Germany with many good shops. The church is also impressive. There are a lot of very nice hikes easily accessible from there offering tranquility and interesting landscape alongside the river Saar, for example. Burg Montclair, the remains of a castle on the hill, is also accessible and you can get coffee and cake until the end of October.Guest review byJodieLuxembourg - 8.0

Mainly the wine mountains in the area is the attractions, and of course visit to various wineyards for wine tasting, and to taste some good solid German kitchen. Great place for longer walks in the Wineyards, and close to many of famous wine areas.Guest review byKim BergenserUnited States - 10.0
Lovely city, lots of sights to see.
Lovely city, lots of sights to see. After 3 visits we still haven't seen everything. Lots of places to have a drink in the afternoon and early evening, but bar and terraces do seem to close early. So if it's a warm summer evening and you want to have an evening drink that may be a bit of a problem.Guest review byJackNetherlands
