- From $176 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 566 reviewsMantaHost, we found our stay with you to be exceptional. We needed a rest and your hotel was a perfect retreat. Starting with the parking staff (free parking) - greeted us with a smile and welcome that stayed with us thoughout our seven day stay. All the staff was amazing - friendly, helpful and professional. The hotel is clean and perfectly located for a stay on the sea. Our room was excellent with a sea view and was always kept clean and spotless by the household staff. Since we stayed for seven days we had the opportunity to eat in the restaurant for every breakfast and lunch. Excellent food well prepared and presented which was made better by a professional dining room staff that was always there to help. We appreciate the time we stayed at MantaHost. Thank you for everything.Guest review byKennethUnited States

It's just too crowded and the air is very polluted.
It's just too crowded and the air is very polluted. If you like big city life then you'll like Salinas. But if you want a place where you can just relax on the beach, this is not that place. Beaches are VERY crowded, lots of background noise. Honestly the air pollution here is horrible for a peninsula. It smells like Newark, New Jersey.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 4.0
I can completely say that I speak from experience and...
I can completely say that I speak from experience and knowledge about this city. I'd lived in Manta, Manabi, Ecuador from December 1, 2003, until late June 2013. I felt that Manta was the lost jewel that I'd always been looking for. The city was bustling with commerce during the day and at night it came alive with fiestas and parties. The club scene was outstanding and little to no violence. Of course, they had the criminal element, but they knew to stay on their turf and not venture outward. The beaches were always alive and restaurants outstanding. I love the city and I go back often to visit my Godson and his family. Now, let's fast forward to 20 years later and the here and now. Since the uprising in Venezuela that led to the migration of their criminals to Ecuador and the corruption of the government of Ecuador since the presidency of President Correa ended, it has been a free for all of crime and violence. They have allowed illegals to enter and ravish the City of Manta, bringing their prostitution, drugs, and violent crime to a once peaceful and bustling city. No one, not even the police are doing something about it. Hence, la policia acostada, the term means the police laying down. I would visit Cuenca if I wanted to vacation in Ecuador or Guayaquil, but Guayaquil is much more down the drain than Manta. It is shameful what corruption and evil can do to a place. Now, you have it, the truth unfolded. My last time in Manta was May 19 thru June 1, 2023. The good people of Manta are still the best people on the planet. I feel so sorry for the situation that they are in.Guest review byFirestorm1966United States - 8.0

I like visiting Montanita but wouldn't want to stay much longer than 4-5 days. Thee's not enough to do--unless you are in love with the beach! There are excellent food options and the Tia tienda provides options for cooking on your own. The beach is SUPERB!Guest review byRichard from DallasEcuador - 8.0

There were many restaurants with good food, fresh seafood especially! There are many agents selling tours for whale watching, snorkling, skin diving, park tours and all sorts of recreational activities. Lots of small shops with tourist items. The whale season is local winter so the temperature is cooler than most expect. It gets down to 69F or 20C at night. The wind makes it feel cooler. The small motorcycle rickshaws are called "motors" and serve as taxis. The currency is US dollars and $1-$1.50 gets you anywhere in town.Guest review bySteve - 10.0
David is a huge asset to the hotel.
David is a huge asset to the hotel. He knows and loves the area and is happy to help with any information or advice to make your trip better. The hotel is a beautiful property and all the staff were awesome. The beaches are beautiful, not too crowded, and only a block from the hotel. We didn’t get to explore Tonsupa, but Atacames is a short taxi ride with a lot going on.Guest review byLynn2024United States - 8.0
Atacames is a fairly normal Ecuadorian Beach town.
Atacames is a fairly normal Ecuadorian Beach town. A nice, if comercial 'boardwalk' along the beach, the Malecon, and about 10 by 20 blocks of town behind it. Lots of choice for dining and shopping. The beach is clean and wide, the ocean a treat. Activities are available at not unstandard prices.Guest review byjohngrunewaldEcuador - 10.0

Playas is very close to Guayaquil, only a 1 hour drive from the city. It is a beautiful beach town with a lot of things to see and enjoy. The sand is great, very soft and not rocky and the waves are great for boarding.Guest review byAnonymousUnited States - 10.0
Ayampe is a quiet and extremely safe location.
Ayampe is a quiet and extremely safe location. It is next to the Colibri trail which is one of the best birdwatching locations in Ecuador. This small place has a range of excellent restaurants which are very reasonably priced. It has good surfing available and the beach is fantastic and very quiet.Guest review byTonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is not a lux resort but quite adequate for my needs. Clean, safe, small variety (But plenty unless you are maybe staying longer than a couple of weeks) of good restaurants though many do not open until early evening. Love the uncrowded beach.Guest review byRichardEcuador - 10.0

The location was ideal, offering a lovely view and a very welcoming atmosphere. It had everything we needed – a nice garden, a jacuzzi, and direct beach access – so we rarely had to go out, except to pick up a few essentials. The host was extremely helpful throughout our stay.Guest review byDiegoUnited Kingdom
