- From US$130.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,112 reviewsThe Antonius was a grand and exceptionally fine hotel. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. There were two comfortable armchairs in which to relax. The bathroom was huge and had a walk-in shower as well as a clawfoot bathtub. The hotel is in the heart of the Old Town and our view was of the historic 17th-century university. The sites of Tartu were easily reached on foot from this ideally located hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. We asked to change our room from a lower floor to a higher floor and were accommodated immediately. Breakfast was delicious and served in a charming medieval room with stone walls, arched ceiling and a large skylight. There was a sumptuous buffet with high-quality items, such as quiche, smoked salmon and sparkling wine, as well as great choices from the a la carte menu. We had an outstanding meal one evening at the Antonius Hotel. We were the only guests and our charming young waitress was kind, professional and knowledgeable. This hotel was superb value and we would recommend it 100% for people visiting Tartu.Guest review byGregoryCanada
- From US$75.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,155 reviewsThe staff was so helpful and caring! I couldn't check until aft 8 pm and the staff made sure that I able to get a key. They sent me their phone number and helped me when I had any questions. The room was really charming! It had a warmth that you won't find in a hotel. Also, I requested a quiet room and my room was so quiet! Also, the Villa is centrally located, so I could walk wherever I needed to go. It is a very short walk to the Villa from the bus station. I highly recommend the Villa if you would like a charming environment with an exceptionally caring staff!Guest review byLisaLithuania
- From US$113.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 5,189 reviewsBreakfast was excellent, the room was comfortable and very quiet, the SPA area was great and the parking was OK even if it was sometimes difficult to park because there were not enough parking spots for all the hotel guests. On top of that, the localisation was perfect. City rental bikes could be found close to the hotel, but even going downtown on foot was easy to do : indeed, it was only 10 minutes away !!! It was a perfect hotel for us...Guest review bySebastienFrance
- From US$69.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 828 reviewsMy room was very cozy. It was like a dorm room, with twin beds and two working spaces, a kitchenette. I really liked it, one of my favourite stays in Tartu. I booked it on purpose to be a nice hour's walk from my university. Most people would take the bus (stop's very close), or drive, or whatever. And you guys, there's a legendary fast food place called Sirius close by, and the food is really cheap and really tasty. No joke.Guest review byMariaEstonia
- From US$70.06 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 146 reviewsThe owner is very nice and helpful, the room was very clean and super cozy and the manor has a unique and very pleasant atmosphere. There is a very well equipped, spatious and cozy kitchen. We used the hotel as a base for bike trips around. The area was great for that because it was very beautiful and there were almost no cars on the roads.Guest review byInsa Ingeborg CharlotteLatvia

Tartu is the intellectual capital of Estonia and has some great museums. Eesti Rahva Museum is a must go. A fantastic history of Estonia and the finno-ugrik peoples. Vanemuine opera is good and good value. Loodus museum is better than Tallinn. Great restaurants and easy to get around on public transport.Guest review byGilesAustralia - 10.0
The hostess was great.
The hostess was great. They provided additional information regarding a tour of the castle and the area. The breakfast menu was provided the evening before and it was extensive. I checked off just about everything on offer and then worried it would be too much, but the portions were adjusted accordingly, and thus I was delighted to have been able to taste all of what was offered. As for the area...restful.Guest review byJAANCanada - 10.0

This can be dubbed the garden town of Estonia (which in itself could be named the garden country of Europe). Every detached house has an immaculate garden with lots of flowers in the summer and the town government does not save pennies on making streets floral and beautiful. There are small and larger forests in the neighbourhood and there are two small beaches bordering natural lakes in the town centre. For those looking for vibrant nightlife, this is not the place to be. From Elva you can take the train or bus to Tartu from the 19th century wooden train station. In the other direction, the train goes to Valga from where you can travel onwards into Latvia. Overall, i would think that 3 days is about right to explore Elva (and its excellent small scale restaurants) and the surroundings.Guest review byLeoDCBelgium - 10.0
Everything was just wonderful!
Everything was just wonderful! It's a nice and quiet place, great for stopping by after a long ride. All the facilities are great and the rooms are cosy and comfortable. The place is a walking distance away from the lake, which offers a great view. I would 100% reccomend this place!!! :)Guest review byLolitaLatvia - 10.0

Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem!
Literally gorgeous, such a hidden gem! It is mainly a student city and I was there for a conference, so I got the full academic vibes, but the town itself is beautiful! The centre is almost exclusively very aesthetically pleasing neo-classical architecture, there are many café and restaurant options around, and the locals are kind and welcoming. It really feels like a city that is proud of itself and its heritage, and is happy to show it!Guest review byMargaritaSweden
