FAQs about hotels in Asturias
A Secret of Nature
From dramatic mountains of the Picos de Europa National Park to buildings precariously close to its Atlantic Coast’s sheer cliffs, Asturias is one of Spain’s best kept secrets.
In a valley, the capital Oviedo is an eclectic mix of architecture, great food and even greater nightlife. And for nightlife read ‘early morning life’ as things don’t get going until after midnight. Nearby Gijón is the region’s biggest city and well known for its cider industry and long, sandy beach.
With over 250 km of coastline, Asturias has an impressive array of beaches, many sheltered by towering cliffs. One such beach is Playa del Silencio near Cudillero. Along the coast the port of Aviles has a delightful French garden and the futuristic-looking Centro Niemeyer.
Popular Llanes to the east is home to some of the best Asturias hotels, and the coastline between here and Pendueles is absolutely spectacular. Ribadesella also has beautiful scenery where river meets sea. By a different river mouth is Luarca, a picturesque town curving around its harbour full of fishing boats bringing in excellent seafood.
Inland the scenery undulates in peaks and troughs, and beaches give way to fields where grazing animals far outweigh tourists. Here are more country houses on Booking.com, while most Asturias apartments, guest houses and hotels are by the coast.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 217 reviewsAmazing location in the Somiedo Natural Park. Come here if you like walking, wildlife and peace. The owner is a Cantabrian Brown Bear watcher and you are likely to see them on the mountain slopes whilst you are there. A basic breakfast is provided if you want one. There are a couple of restaurants in the village which may, or may not, be open. It’s 10 mins down to Pola in the valley below which has more facilities.Guest review byNickUnited Kingdom

Great rock ñ roll festival here every October. Grounds ate kept lovely. Facilities ate great. It was our fifth year here and always a friendly face from the barman. Note that the swimming pool closes at the end of September but the campsite is open all year.Guest review bylauraUnited Kingdom

Very nice city. It isn't big and can be walked through.
Very nice city. It isn't big and can be walked through. All districts that we visited were tidy, with good architecture and style. Really beautiful streets and architecture, traditional and modern at the same time. Recommend to visit: - San Francisco (central) park - not big, but proposes a good walk. - Catedral de San Salvador - it brings impression. Also nice walking around through older streets, whose squares are the centers of evening entertainment. - Oviedo Congress and Exhibitions Center - very impressive with its size and design. I was shocked encountering such a stylish giant in a city that small. - Sacred Heart of Jesus Monument - the monument itself is nice, but mostly interesting (at least for me) for its amazing view - the whole city can be observed from here, mountain views, your site can even reach the ocean and Gijon. Also there are several points of interest nearby moving back to the city. If you travel with a child, the playgrounds are also fine here. My daughter enjoyed zip lines a lot which are quite common here.Guest review byMikhailRussia - 8.0
Rather nice city at the ocean shore.
Rather nice city at the ocean shore. The center is not too urbanistic, architecture is good. It is also not too big, it can be explored by foot, visiting all three beaches. The whole city can be crossed by a cheap bus. The views are great. Especially Playa de San Lorenzo and points around the Cerro de Sta Catalina. For those found of walking I also recommend visiting the Senda del Cervigón route. But I'll warn swimmers - take into account tides, waves and the water temperature.Guest review byMikhailRussia - 10.0

Great little town with many restaurants and bars, mainly frequented by Spanish people and other tourists. Many families on holiday which made the place feel safe. I would consider staying there in the future as part of another tour.Guest review byIan Charles - 10.0

Shops, cafes and restaurants and easy access to all the sights of the area. Easy drive to Poncebos (go early, limited parking) and a super walk to Bulnes and return via funicular. A nice drive out to Cangas de Onís. All very scenic.Guest review byAndyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The hotel was better than I expected.
The hotel was better than I expected. It's a great location, walking distance to town, and has nearby restaurants. The staff are very friendly, speak excellent English, and they even folded clothes left out when they cleaned the room. Parking is on the side, so drive right in and turn right. Downstairs are two living rooms, one with a bar. Drinks are inexpensive, and they would pour until you said when. It's not in Cudillero proper, but it has parking, which we needed.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

Luarca is very beautiful , you fell the force of the Bizkaya in the entire city. It is not touristic at all, you rarely hear other languages than Spanish. The restaurants offer the most delicious and fresh seafood , the large variety of Bizkaya and Atlantic fish and regional food. You can have a walk on the 3 moles or climb up to one of the seaside hills. You should not be afraid of rain and a part of the buildings is empty and not well-kept, so there is some lost places charme.Guest review byMareikeGermany - 8.0

It's a lovely little town with a nice park in the central area and chickens in an enclosure in the park. Last year we were there for the opening of the Apple Festival and there was great music with bag pipes and lots of festivities . It was October I think.Guest review byMichele DoneganAustralia
