- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 341 reviewsNot only is this a historical building but it is lovingly restored to a high quality. If attention to detail is important to you -- such as nice light fixtures and impeccable stone work -- this place is for you. The rooms are simple yet high quality. The ambiance is quiet and serious -- like a museum. Art exhibits were in the converted chapel, and a museum located in the central courtyard (covered) outlines the contributions of the Catholic Church to the humanities and sciences (informative but in Spanish only). We stayed here during a heat wave in August and yet the accommodations were pleasantly cool. Wifi is not in the room -- but that did not bother us. The showers were large, linens were crisp and clean, the breakfast (included) was full -- eggs, coffee, juice, fresh fruits, granola, bread, pastries, cold cuts. For the price our stay was exceptional. There is a reading room and plenty of spaces outside to chill and have a drink (full bar). We visited the nearby Yecla Gorge and the Santo Domingo do Silos monastery. I would go back in a heartbeat in less extreme weather to enjoy the countryside and the quiet of the converted convent.Guest review byKevinCrimea
- From $129.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very Good - What previous guests thought, 4,245 reviewsExcellent hotel. Clean, good service, wonderful views and location. A short walk brings you to a magnificent side —great photo op, especially in the evening—of the cathedral. (The entrance from this side is for local worshippers. Know that the entrance and ticket office to this most amazing cathedral—not your usual experience—is from the plaza further down.) Start your day with the hotel’s ample and lovely buffet. We particularly recommend the selection of fresh fruit. Absolutely everything to recommend about this hotel.Guest review byAntonNetherlands

The choice on the menu in the restaurant is limited but I understand why as it is all fresh but the accompaniments are few, vegetables are few and usually only peppers. A better selection would be goodGuest review byChurch - 10.0

This is a really good budget hotel, perfect if you are passing through. The location isn't the most scenic, being as the hotel shares it's exterior with a BP garage and the whole area is quite industrial with more garages and lorries parked up. This doesn't matter if your travelling coast to coast and just want a decent stopover. The hotel is clean and modern. The rooms are spacious with tv,, wi-fi and a shower bath combo. The hotel has a restaurant/cafeteria/bar combo which means you don't have to go out and search for something to eat, It also has a small shop, And I was able to park right outside, despite their website saying they didn't have any parking.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0

On previous visits to Lerma the town has been buzzing in the evenings, on this occasion, a Tuesday night in mid-June the entire place was shut making it very difficult to find somewhere for dinner. If you intend to visit do your research first to find what will be open.Guest review byhilts250United Kingdom - 8.0

Lovely hotel, perfectly situated for travelling back and forward to the south of Spain and Algarve as it's just off the motorway. Ample parking with electric charging points, staff are always friendly and welcoming. Food is good in both cafeteria and restaurant. The only negative is the room was uncomfortably hot for sleeping in, we turned off the radiator early and put on the air conditioning but that made little difference. It's a shame because it ruined our stay.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The monastery is worth visiting.
The monastery is worth visiting. It has a beautiful cloister, as shown in the picture. It is a short visit, with some important artwork. The town is quaint, with lots of places to eat. It is definitely worth visiting the other two sister towns: Covarrubias and Lerma - Covarrubias is much more breathtaking. Sto Domingo de Silos is also near the recreation of "Good, Bad and Ugly" Sad Hill Cemetery. If you're a Clint Eastwood or Spaghetti Western fan, it's a must visit. Ideal weekend getaway just 2h away from Madrid and very close to the city of Burgos.Guest review byEricSpain - 8.0

We stayed in Hontanas while walking the Camino de Santiago because nothing was available in Hornillos del Camino, our planned stop. The village is down in a hole, so it can't be seen until you're only a very short distance away. Walking in during heavy rain, we weren't sure that the village's existence wasn't an elaborate practical joke.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

An interesting town with a lot of history.
An interesting town with a lot of history. It was clearly an important centre in the past. The old town with its botanical gardens, castle walls and architecture is well worth a visit. Whilst across the old bridge Puente Carlos III there are loads of interesting bars, eateries and places to see. Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule and didn't have enough time to fully explore the town. However, we've saved this as a place to visit the next time that we are in the region and hope to spend a full day or two hereGuest review byanthonyUnited Kingdom
