Leon is a very old northern Spanish city, definitely worth visiting for at least one day. The cathedral and the Gaudi house look incredible from the outside (unfortunately I was there for only one evening, so could not visit). There are plenty of little bars and restaurants, but it may be good to reserve in advance as especially during the holidays it gets very busy.Guest review byMartaNetherlands - 10.0
Valladolid surprises.
Valladolid surprises. At face value it doesn't match up to its illlustrious neighbours, but it reveals itself as you stay longer. There are many monuments, multiple and varied churches, parks, 2 outdoor pools, a riverside swimming beach, and it is where Christopher Columbus spent his last days (check out the museum). Don't expect English to be widely spoken and tours and museums are nearly all in Spanish. Plenty of dining options and adequate shopping. I wouldn't say the populace embraces visitors, but then again they don't spray them with water pistols either.Guest review bymarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We loved Ávila, the city walls are the main attraction, plus there are monasteries and churches to visit. The walled city is easy for waking around. There are many restaurants with outdoor eating areas. The one thing to be aware of is that the town more or less closes down from 2:00 until about 5:00. This is common in Spain but may surprise visitors who are not aware of “siesta.” That was when we returned to the Parador for snacks in the club room and terrace. I will mention that the food in the Parador restaurant was delicious and they had vegetarian options right in the menu without me having to ask, which I really appreciated!Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Aqueduct and Alcazar are more than worth the visit.
Aqueduct and Alcazar are more than worth the visit. Highly recommend the audio tour at the Alcazar. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of shopping options. And one must have the churros. Very unexpected surprise by the good quality food at VIPs; do not let the fast food-diner decor dissuade you from eating here.Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10.0
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino. This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL. Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.Guest review byWilliamCanada - 8.0
I really enjoyed the river side and the city landmarks.
I really enjoyed the river side and the city landmarks. I did not enjoy the restaurants, for some reason most of the ones I checked were closed even though it said open on google maps. I ended up eating some "pinchos" at a small coffee shop, but the person that attended us was ultra friendly.Guest review byFábio M.Portugal - 10.0

I wanted to visit Soria because of the nearby archeological site of Numancia. I had read El Cerco de Numancia by Cervantes as a student and remembered the site. The Museo Numantino in Soria has fascinating artifacts from the archeological site and other locations in the area. Wonderful Roman glass, pottery, jewelry and sculptures. In addition, Soria is a lovely medieval small city well-worth a visit away from more crowded tourist locations such as Barcelona and San Sebastian...Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

If you are a fan of Gaudi's architecture , a lover of history, or a Camino Pilgrim, then this town is a must for a couple of days visit. The old city is easy to navigate on foot. The chocolate museum is also worthwhile if your time allows. If we were traveling by car then I think we should have liked to stay an additional night and explore some of the surrounding area. As it was we were slowly making our way by bus from Santiago de Compostella to fly out of Madrid after having walked the Portuguese Camino.Guest review byTraceyAustralia
