Bejar was ok as a jumping off point.
Bejar was ok as a jumping off point. If we were to come back to the area we would probably stay in Candolario,. a small town that is more picturesque and only 13 minutes away. The visit to the Plaza del Toro was definitely worth the time as was walking the wall of Bejar.Guest review byMad JohnUnited States - 10.0
A hidden gem in the Salamanca province.
A hidden gem in the Salamanca province. One of the most beautiful villages we have ever seen in Spain. So spotlessly clean, so nicely-kept and we particularly liked that it was not full of souvenir shops.Guest review byACFamilySpain - 10.0

Great little village full of authentic old Spanish buildings, nice church and active water troughs which was nice to see. The footpaths - Rua de Plata, etc. are also great for cyclists - long, straight and scenic. I took many great photos of the nature all around. I was there one night only but could definitely stay the weekend there particularly if I'd brought a bike.Guest review byAurielRoeUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We went to the Blues festival held every July in the old bull ring up in the chestnut woods above Bejar so were just wanting a room to sleep. Bejar itself, interesting old town once centre of a thriving wool and cloth trade but feeling in decline now with closed shops. But still attractive old quarter along the Main Street linking several plazas. The main square st the bottom has the theatre, and cámara oscura which is worth a visit. As well as the route of the mill industry, sculpture museum, Jewish quarter. The surrounding country side is very pretty for walking, cycling. Visit particularly Candelario traditional centre of artisan sausages etc with streams channels down the streets and large traditional alpine houses, and Baños de Mibtenayor, spa town.Guest review bySianSpain - 10.0

It is a beautiful village in a wonderful environment and stunning scenery . Very much worth a whole weekend stay for some hiking and visiting the surroundings. Good restaurants: we went to Casa Küme, which was very good but I know that Posada de Candelario, where we were staying, has a good resturant too.Guest review byBegoñaSpain - 10.0

Bejar is an underrated town from the international tourist point of view. It's real advantage in charm is that it is almost completely unspoilt by tourism and well worth a visit as it is a well-preserved and photogenic town. It is a medieval fortified town standing on a plateau above ravine. The scenery is great on a clear day. The Sierra Del Bejar is good for walking and exploring.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom
