FAQs about hotels on Tenerife
Fun and Sun All Year Round
The largest of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has sun, sand and sangria all year round. Its landscape is dominated by volcanic Mount Teide, a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose peak is covered by snow. There are fabulous views over Tenerife and the surrounding islands from the cable car that takes you up.
However, most visitors flock to the island for its beaches. The most exclusive area is Costa Adeje, home to most 5-star hotels in Tenerife. It also houses Aqualand waterpark with waterslides, pools and a dolphinarium, while next door Playa de las Americas boasts Siam Park – Europe’s largest waterpark.
This resort is the island’s party capital and features a large number of Tenerife hotels with swimming pools, and a wealth of bars and restaurants. Adjoining Los Cristianos also has a long, sandy beach.
The southern Tenerife beaches are actually artificial, made from white sand imported from the Sahara Desert, because the natural ones are black sand. Tenerife resorts with just such a beach include Puerto de la Cruz and Los Gigantes, which is dramatically sheltered by sheer cliffs.
The capital – Santa Cruz – is the arrival point for ferries from the other Canaries and has a huge, annual carnival. Wherever you decide to stay, check out the Tenerife hotel deals on Booking.com.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 850 reviewsUnparalleled, wonderful, magical. Now, a bit more in detail: We chose this hotel by chance just two days before our flight, drawn by its location and all-inclusive option. At check-in, the receptionist greeted us warmly and explained everything in detail. When we entered our room, we were absolutely thrilled: a spacious apartment with a kitchen, a large bedroom and living room, a terrace with an ocean view, and an enormous rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of both the ocean and Mount Teide! The hotel has a truly authentic feel, everything is designed with great taste, and we are so happy that you have such a talented gardener on staff! Even though we’re not the type to stay in the hotel all day, it was a pleasure to take evening walks around the beautiful grounds and capture amazing photos! P.S. There are at least three adorable cats living on the premises – a lovely bonus! The only downside was the woman at the restaurant entrance who, somewhat unwelcomingly, kept asking for our room number. It didn’t make much sense, given that all guests were clearly wearing their wristbands, and it left a bit of an unpleasant impression. In the end: the views are absolutely magical, the food is always available and delicious, the apartments are fantastic (for reasonable guests), and the location is perfect – with restaurants, shops, and the best beaches nearby. Thank you! We will be back!Guest review bySERGEJUSLithuania
- From US$345.98 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,163 reviewsI cannot say enough good things about our stay. We were in a villa with jacuzzi & had a fantastic sleep every night thanks to the huge cloud soft bed & blackout blinds. The view from our terrace was fabulous. The room was very clean. The staff were all so friendly and we loved the little touches - a glass of bubbles on arrival, giving out watermelon by the pool etc. One thing I loved about this hotel is that unlike lots of other resorts, there were plenty of sun loungers so we didn’t feel like we had to compete for space. We loved the pool area, which felt like it was set in a garden - lots of trees and greenery etc and the cocktails from the pool bar are reasonably priced. We enjoyed the pools so much that we barely left the hotel. We were very impressed with the breakfast & had an enjoyable meal in the property’s Italian restaurant one night too. The location is a bit further out so we had a long walk or an e scooter ride to restaurants etc. The beach is a short walk down a big hill but that wasn’t a problem for us.Guest review byGraceUnited States
- From US$479.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 319 reviewsMy fiancé and I stayed here in late December for the first time. It was a brilliant place to stay - the rooms were to a high standard and very modern, and the overall grounds and facilities were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again The buffet breakfast each morning was also excellent and a huge selection was on offer. Not sure how anyone could be disappointed with it. The location is brilliant. We heard no noise any night we stayed here, and yet we were only a few minutes away from bars and restaurants Also for anyone thinking of traveling - The number 40 bus from Tenerife South Airport goes every 30 minutes and drops you at “Columbus” station which is five minutes walk away. The fare is €3, you can pay by contactless, and this is a huge cost saving compared to taxi (€40+)Guest review byDarraghIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.0Good - What previous guests thought, 609 reviewsLiterally everything, they were caring, understanding, the room even as an adult was a damn room to die for, having autism being in a completely foreign county can and has been stressful but these people tried their absolute hardest to help in any way they can. Loved the roosters they had roaming but the girlfriend had the fun idea of feeding them from the balcony the first few days they ended up waking us up at 6am every morning for food 😂. Other than that I've stayed in 5* hotels that don't touch the surface on this place. Can't recommend more to go. If you got the option, go.Guest review byJordanChina

Puerto de la Cruz is the nicest city on the Island.
Puerto de la Cruz is the nicest city on the Island. It has that wonderfully built Lago Martináez, where you could swim, whatever high waves were on the ocean. The seaside promenade is beautiful, full of stores and restaurants. It is easy to get around. Also very good place for shopping is the Martiánez Shopping Centre, which is very close to the hotel and has good quality clothes and food in Mercadona.Guest review byMariaHungary - 10.0
The area is perfect for all ages
The area is perfect for all ages It is desired by adults for the wonderful view it offers. The long walks with the different terraces that invite you are a dream. The important thing is that the beach is public everywhere and is not private. Accommodations have very good prices. 4-star hotels are around 120 euros per night. For young people there is nightlife with parties on the seashore. Food is for all tastes. - there are higher prices for quality food as well as lower prices. The menu of the day costs 13 euros.Guest review byGabrielaRomania - 10.0

Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife,...
Santa Cruz de Tenerife doesn’t have much of nightlife, almost everything was closed at 21:30-22:00 and there were no people outside either we were on the center of the town or near the plaza. BUT, The island in general is worth it. If you can get outside and go see other towns - villages, it is definitely worth it and be prepared for breathtaking sights, views and amazing monuments. There are a lot sightseeings worth visiting, but Santa Cruz de Tenerife on its own is just not worth it that much (and the parking there is literally impossible)Guest review bykostastsoukkGreece - 6.0
We stayed 4 nights in LC and 7 nights in Adeje.
We stayed 4 nights in LC and 7 nights in Adeje. LC- It’s gone down hill. Streets are tired. People begging. One gentleman I spoke to had his gold chain ripped off his neck in broad daylight while walking with his family. (He was with his wife, daughter and grandson). Wouldn’t go back to LC- Adeje is far more upmarket, nicer and safer. Stayed in Gran TacandeGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Local supermarket very handy. Quiet for those that don't like hustle and bustle of a lively resort. Would recommend the Lava Beach Cafe in Golf Del Sur for breakfast or lunch. Also the Wild Geese pub for drinks and foodGuest review byTracyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city consists of three parts. The historic part with beautiful and charming streets. The villa part with beautiful gardens, trees, houses, and the part where people live tightly and where the most is happening. Lots of street culture, lots of cultural attractions. Lots of opportunities for good food.Guest review byDariuszPoland - 8.0

As my husband is not very mobile, El Medano is ideal as it is mainly flat and easy to walk. There is a wooden boardwalk along the sea front. Restaurants, shops a large square and a childrens' play area are all within easy reach.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A lot of nice beaches with restaurants and bars for all ages...
A lot of nice beaches with restaurants and bars for all ages, starting point to El Teide mountain, close to airport, the city is very clean and neat. Big disadvantage is public car parking, it's very hard to find some, so we parked in underground garages, which cost more than the rental fee itself.Guest review byAnonymousSlovenia
