A fantastic place to stay, in my opinion - my room was large and offered everything needed. It was not the bland usual hotel thing but rather it was nicely decorated for a distinct experience. The location right on the lake is wonderful, with views across the water to the north, and a deck for sitting outside if one wants to, during meals or just for pleasure. Overall, this hotel gives the impression that the owners care and want guests to be comfortable, and it is still small enough to not be the usual bland thing of a large hotel, while offering all one could wish for. Downtown is within walking distance.

There was sauna and the cottage was nice with fireplace and all was good. Very helpful staff despite it was Christmas Eve!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Kemijärvi! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by how immaculately clean and well-maintained the entire hotel was. Very quite, without tourists around and you can really enjoy the calm environment, the hosts were very helpful and attentive fixing a problem with the WiFi during Christmas eve. Very close to Lidl and the cabin was very warm, we stayed during the Christmas week with - 5 deg. Ps: we even received a surprise visit from Santa Claus in the cabin we stayed in, thank you for the experience 😊

We loved the location right by the lake, especially with the outdoor fire where you can cook your meals and enjoy breakfast in the morning. Everything was spotless. The host was also very kind, when we asked, he gladly washed the clothes we had from our trekking trip.

The house is fully consistent with the description on the website. On the day of arrival there were severe frosts somewhere around 30, but the house was warm, so to speak, we were greeted warmly.))) And also beautiful nature, the house is located on the shore of a large lake. I plan to come there in the summer to see the beauty of this place.

The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and I was able to check in and out close to the times my night train was arriving and leaving. (Easy walk from the train station) The cabin was very clean and comfortable and I really enjoyed the view over the lake and sitting by the fire that I made in the woodstove. A heavy stone thing that you fire up for a few hours and then it radiates heat for the next 20. It was wonderful! The sauna was also a nice bonus. Easy to use and if you don't know how to, the hosts were happy to explain things or come over to help. So very relaxing stay, and when I got tired of the view I could log on to netflix and relax some more. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

This is a great budget place for everyone looking for a comfortable, nice and inexpensive place to stay. We arrived very late and probably woke up the owner. However, she had no problem showing us around and welcoming us, although she spoke little English. The lady was so kind, even brought us free pancakes in the morning :-) the room was clean and comfy, felt like being in the 20is. It had everything one needs. Very charming and spacious.
