- From $122.13 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 586 reviewsThis gem of an inn was the perfect place for our visit to the Champagne region of France. It's centrally located near Reims and Epernay, and it's also quite close to the Chateau Thierry and Belleau Woods monuments and battlefields for the World War I history buffs. The staff of the hotel is very friendly and helpful, and the hotel's restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was 18 Euros per person and included a variety of fresh items from a boulangerie, yogurt, rice pudding, fresh fruit, and cheeses. The location of the hotel is gorgeous, with great views of the surrounding countryside. One could describe it as either pastoral or bucolic. Our room was on the second floor, and there is no lift, but the gentleman who checked us in insisted on carrying our luggage up to our room. Our room was more than adequate, the bed was comfortable, and air conditioner could keep you ice cold, if you wished. The bathroom was large, and everything worked well.Guest review byCarnac767United States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 203 reviewsWe had an absolutely wonderful stay at Château de Clermont. The entire experience was flawless from start to finish. The setting is stunning, with a beautiful pool that invites total relaxation, and the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. But the real highlight was the food, the dinner was simply exceptional, worthy of a fine restaurant, and the breakfast was fresh, generous, and delicious. Compliments to the chef and the entire team for creating such a memorable culinary experience. Every detail was taken care of with care and attention, making our stay feel effortless and peaceful. We left feeling completely recharged. Highly recommended, we’ll definitely be coming back!Guest review bySamuelNetherlands

It was perfect for an overnight stop on our way home.
It was perfect for an overnight stop on our way home. However, the hotel let us down as we were told when we arrived we needed to pay an extra 11 euros if we both wanted a breakfast. We were asked what time we would like breakfast to be served. In the morning the hotel was locked and no breakfast to be enjoyed!Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our visit was a Saturday in August, the main streets were decorated with balloons and umbrellas, the pavements were full of restaurants/cafes tables and chairs, very festive. A bonus was the use of old fashioned wooden games with instructions, unfortunately only in French. The cathedral was a disappointment, very large, very beautiful, half empty and all information posters in French only, could do better!Guest review byjohnnydgoodeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We choose chateau thierry based on its commutable location to reims and Paris. It was perfect for both. 3 hours from calais. 1 hr 3 to chelles gournay (then train/metro to paris) 38 mins to reims. As a big family we found eating out tricky In chateau thierry not many places appeared to want us there or simple couldn't hold us. But Le 95 was a perfect little gem with the best most helpful staff we've ever encountered. Free parking car park massive bonus. We tried the local bakeries. All very good, doughnut shop absokutly wonderful! Supermarket well stocked. We also tried the carrefour interspersed and soft play all as to be expected.Guest review byHayleyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A lovely little town, effectively part of Chateau Thierry...
A lovely little town, effectively part of Chateau Thierry where there are plenty of shops, restaurants, historical stuff (castle and WW1 monument). Access to several Champagne caves - one is really based around a cave, amazing! Safe to walk, there appear to be plenty of buses, but given the heat some sites (the US WW1 memorial) need a car for most people to get thereGuest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 8.0

It is a perfect place to play in the near by golf. The lake is beautiful and it worth the chance for a relaxing stay. The property is welcoming and positive. However it could enjoy a better maintenance.Guest review byHeiHeiUkUnited Kingdom - 8.0
SQ is a nice little town with some quirky touches.
SQ is a nice little town with some quirky touches. There was a beer festival in the main square when we were there, and this part of town has a reasonably lively feel. We walked down to the river and there are some good bars and restaurants a bit further along. The Cathedral is a classic Gothic structure and has some interesting architectural details.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It's walkabilty, despite the hills. Glorious views. The Cathedral and Knights Templar chapel were well maintained, interesting and beautiful. Loved the ports and other historic sites, and there was free entry.Guest review byBryanAustralia - 8.0

I've stayed here at least twice now. Friendly staff, accommodating. Adequate facilities. Breakfast is typical French, although they do now include boil-your-own eggs. €6 beer at the bar seemed a little expensive.Guest review byToddGermany - 8.0

We were only there for one night but the buildings are really pretty, a nice town square, catherdral and looks to be a fair few restaurants. Being near Calais most of the people we spoke to in shops / restaurants spoke English if that is a consideration.Guest review byMarie-ClaireUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The town has history dating back thousands of years and is...
The town has history dating back thousands of years and is documented from the time of the Romans; the character of the town is enhanced from its elevated position, with the walled perimeter, dense buildings, and cathedral, standing tall in otherwise flat countryside. There's a real sense of arrival as you climb up to your final destination. We've visited three times, twice in winter as a long drive stopover, and once in the summer. The cobbled streets, old buildings, cafes, shops, bars, restaurants, and sites are varied and interesting. It's a place that's full of character and well worth a visit for a day or two, maybe longer. We particularly like staying in the Hôtel de la Bannière de France in the heart of the old centre, assuming we have some time to appreciate the visit. There are other cheaper options in the lower town for travellers who just want a rapid overnight pit stop.Guest review byTobyUnited Kingdom
