- From $349.40 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 410 reviewsThis place has views unlike any other hotel! It was one of the most lovely and whimsical places I’ve ever stayed. Behind the hotel is a beautiful mountain which seems to always have paragliding happening. The other side is the beautiful lake where you can sit on chairs right next to the water while you eat and drink wine. The character and history of the building was beautiful. The staff was excellent, especially the waiters and waitresses. I am vegan and my boyfriend vegetarian, they were more than happy to make us amazing meals! There is a plant based menu for dinner as well which we were so happy to see. The food is wonderful and beautifully presented. They have a nice parking lot for people who drive there and have bikes you can rent which I highly recommend. We will definitely try to return soon!Guest review byNatalieUnited States
- From $503.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 220 reviewsI had a fantastic stay at this hotel, thanks to the exceptional team. From the warm welcome by the staff outside the doors to the efficient reception and helpful concierge, which were at my service almost 24hr and always supported with any request, every interaction was pleasant. The frequent shuttle service to the city center was a huge plus, making it easy to explore. I also appreciated the convenience of having a ski rental store within the hotel and the seamless service to the sister hotel, which provided direct access to the ski entrance. The sauna was greatGuest review byMajidUnited Arab Emirates

Annecy is a perfect one full day or day and a half stop if you are in the area. If you are a hiker (we didn’t have time) then more days would definitely make sense. Very cool extensive old town with a scenic lake.Guest review byTomUnited States - 10.0
Great for the week-end, during autumn or even summer!
Great for the week-end, during autumn or even summer! Go take the train to Mer de Glace and go up the mountain to Aiguille du Midi. They're a must do! Also go on a little hike to Chalet de Floria for nice café with views. The hike is only 45 minutes and easy.Guest review byAngela P.France - 10.0
We really enjoyed Grenoble.
We really enjoyed Grenoble. It is a nice friendly city with good transport. We visited the art gallery and the cable car. The scenery is stunning. We were only there two days but with more time would have ventured out of the city into the countryside. We would recommend the Belle Idée restaurant. After Grenoble we went to Aix. The first part of our journey was on a beautiful little train from Grenoble towards Gap. This went through the Alps and this journey was amazing. Well worth doing.Guest review bySueUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Interesting town with cultural heritage.
Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Aix-les-Bains is a very pleasant town on the shores of the biggest lake in France: Lake Bouget. There are lots of restaurants and places to visit including a Casino, mountains and water sports. If you can, we recommend you try the boat cruse around the lake and include a meal on board.Guest review byBarryUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Amazing location.
Amazing location. The owners and staff were friendly, professional, and answered all our questions. The bar was great, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we've had. I hope we can go back to Briancon in the near future because it's so beautiful, and we'll certainly stay here.Guest review byJBDRHDUnited States - 10.0

We were on a mission to revisit Parc de Merlet with our grandaughter thirty-six years after we took her mother. The Parc delivered, with Chamois, Mouflon and Marmots to enjoy. The views from accommodation on that side of the valley are the best in the valley. In Les Houches village, the local patisserie was visited and a different cake enjoyed every day. There were plenty of paths (including Tour de Mont Blanc) into the forest, for walks from the chalet. Wonderful Alpine wildlife is easy to find. It was convenient to take the free train into Chamonix and take a ride to Le Brevent then walk the ridge and back to the chalet. We did the Mer de Glas, to from Chamonix. We went up to Bellevue on the teleferique and walked across the alp, finding several wild flowers and even a rare Wart-Biter Grasshopper! We then took the Tramway du Mont Blanc down to Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains and had a lovely afternoon in the beautiful park. There was a very tough Via Ferrata for the over 70s (with 50 years experience) and a Go Ape-type circuit with a rock-climb included in the trail for the 10-year-old and her Mamma, then train back to Les Houches. One weekend evening was lively down in the village, but up on the hill we could sit out in relative calm and stare at the sunset on snowy Mont Blanc, stars and the torch-lights of mountaineers picking their way down. All-in-all, very relaxing.Guest review byValerie - 6.0
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist...
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist season, felt unexpectedly lifeless. Many stores appeared permanently closed, and the town lacked any real atmosphere after early evening—by 10pm, only the casino restaurant was still serving food. This left few options for late dining or entertainment. Given these circumstances and the general sense of a closed-up town, I would not recommend visiting Evian-les-Bains, especially if you're expecting a lively lakeside resort experience. While some guides and official tourism pages highlight Evian's attractive lakefront, Belle Époque architecture, and potential activities along the lake and nearby outdoors, recent firsthand accounts confirm a lack of vibrancy and operational businesses, even in traditionally busy months. For travelers who prioritize a bustling atmosphere and broad dining options long into the evening, it may be better to look elsewhere.Guest review byRudyKUnited States - 10.0
Nice lake front with port/marina.
Nice lake front with port/marina. There's a steep climb up to the town from the water with a funicular railway (summer only?). Lots of places to eat plus takeaways and supermarket in easy walking distance of town centre.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Gap is a lovely place, but I would never - ever - recommend the Hôtel Restaurant Pavillon Carina to ANYONE. It is almost 4 weeks since they ruined our overnight stay there and we had to find emergency accommodation elsewhere. We are still waiting for full compensation and refund and neither they or Booking.com have been any help WHATSOEVER.Guest review byPeterHungary
