- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Excellent - What previous guests thought, 665 reviewsEscape from the stressful cities to a charming French village? This was the gem I was looking for. No buzzing cars, no background noise—just the soothing sounds of nature. At night, an owl chatters from its perch in the tree, and in the morning, you're greeted by dragonflies zooming by. From the first look at the property, everything shows great attention to detail, from the tasteful vintage decorations to the immaculate cleanliness (inside the rooms, it's a 10/10; outside, it’s a bit more lived-in, which adds character and avoids the sterile feel of a designer hotel). There are plenty of spots to sit and relax, including a swimming lane, a larger pool, a spacious spa that can be reserved privately, and a roomy terrace, all just a short walk away. It has very romantic vibes but is also perfect for those who want to disconnect and read or write a book. After touring the room and the grounds of the hotel, another delightful surprise awaited. The restaurant offers a fine dining experience with an expertly crafted 7-course discovery menu called "Emotions," beautifully paired with their selection of wines. The dedication of Chef Maxime Lesobre and Chef Saé Haségawa to their craft was palpable in every course served. Having read the outdated Michelin Guide review afterwards, I felt it didn’t do justice to the symphony of flavors they managed to unleash. As for value for money, there’s no question—it exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend the experience, go for it. Finally, a special mention goes to the spa, which offers a genuine spa experience with a well-rounded selection of treatments and massages. It reflects the same dedication to quality and cozy atmosphere as the rest of the property. My only regret is not having had more time to fully indulge in everything they offer.Guest review byMaurizioLuxembourg
- From $352.70 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Excellent - What previous guests thought, 283 reviewsWe stayed in the less fancy part of the hotel across the street ‘Maison de Famille’. Still a huge and very nice room, very quiet with lots of amenities. The restaurant is amazing (2 stars) but pricey of course although the lunch menu is a good option. Spa is small but very niceGuest review byAntoineFrance

Lovely clean city can walk everywhere.
Lovely clean city can walk everywhere. Not much to see after 3 days at most unless you're filming a medieval period film or have to work or study. I say take a a late night walk through the city with the open empty pedestrian streets and no humans around. Quite impressive. But nah..not much else. Good afternoon stopover. Furthermore Dijon needs to let go of their co-dependent relationship with mustard. The seeds are no longer grown there. :) They are imported.Guest review byLaurieFrance - 10.0

Beaune is the heart of France's beautiful, wine-centric Burgundy region. It's a good base for exploring the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, and has lots of restaurants, tasting rooms and wine shops. If you don't want to rent a car, you can rent bikes or walk to just about everything in town. We had an exceptional dinner at Soul Kitchen (make a reservation; there are only 12 seats) and also at La Ciboulette. The famous Hôtel Dieu - Hospices de Beaune is an exceptional historic site and the wine museum is fun and informative.Guest review byFeliciaUnited States - 10.0

Very nice, smaller city, near the river Saona, nice walking area, rich history; we had dinner in the oldest wodden house in the city and brunch at Les Coursives near the cathedral. Both nice places and good food.Guest review byUršaSlovenia - 8.0

The old town is small and quaint and is located along the river Saone. Old Town is easily walkable with the main area being about 10 x 12 city blocks in width with an additional newer and larger portion of town immediately to the south. It has nice historical charm and is centrally located between Paris, Geneva and Lyon. It took us about 1.5 hours in an Uber to get to town from the Lyon airport.Guest review byMarkMUnited States - 10.0

A hotel on the waterfront, Hotel Maxime, a lovely old, quaint, medieval town with quality shops, a delicious meal at Chez Maxim, altogether a delightful stay. We were only there for one night but wished we’d been able to stay longer and explore more. A town to be recommended😄😄Guest review bydavidSpain - 10.0
There are many, many places of interest to see and explore.
There are many, many places of interest to see and explore. For me, the highlights were the Cathedral and the historic churches such as St. Pierre and St. Etienne. In addition, I was glad that I made time for the Sanctuary of St. Bernadette and the Ducal Palace, which features a basement museum well worth the visit (although one only gets to see a tiny sliver of the Palace itself, and the rooms you do see contain nothing of interest). I spent a lot of time walking around taking pictures and thus ran out of time to do much else, sadly.Guest review byNYCarolinaSwitzerland - 10.0

We stop in Nuits St Georges on drives from UK to South of France. Its perfectly mid way, great location from the motorway and has plenty to offer. The town center has been updated since our last trip and the mix of traditional architecture and modern stone and fountains in the center of town work well together. There are a number of bars and we sat at a really great bar with a fabulous vibe drinking great draught beer and people watching. After the long drive from Calais to Nuits St George we decided to skip a restaurant and hit the local Carrefour supermarket for wine and picnic items, but, in the past we've eaten at local restaurants and there are plenty to chose from. Great place to stop, relax and rewind for the onward journey.Guest review byTina & DellFrance - 10.0
