The Abbeys are stunning, the town is flat so easy to walk around. There are regular markets, the Sunday one we went to was quite big with lots of fresh food. The harbour is a nice spot with a line of bars and restaurants nearby, my favourite being an Irish bar (O'Donnells) for a well kept pint (or three) of Guinness!Guest review byRaymondUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beautiful town.
Beautiful town. The Harbour is the main feature but the surrounding area is beautiful too. We caught a bus to Trouville and Deauville which are well worth a visit. From where we were staying it was a short walk to the beach through the ‘Le Jardin des Personnalities’ which was stunning. The beach is lovely with a great beach bar with a varied menu of meals and drinks and reasonably priced. From the beach you look across to Le Havre port which isn’t very scenic and you do have tankers going down the estuary but that didn’t deter anyone as plenty of people were in the sea.Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I was in Deauville for the Bridge Festival, so chose the location for that reason. However, I would say that some of the restaurants in Deauville are not great value or quality and prefer to eat in Trouville where there is better choice and value in my opinion. It is all down to personal taste, obviously many wealthy Parisians and foreign visitors like to be in Deauville, for the beach and top hotels. Relative to Trouville it is quite smart, but Trouville is more lively and overall more interesting. Next time, I will stay in Trouville although it is more of a walk to the casino.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bayeux is a small town, but is centrally located to get to Mont St Michael and D-Day activities. Not much to do in the town itself. There was one highlight in the town itself and that was the restaurant La Rapiere. We had a great dining experience there.Guest review byRhondaUnited States - 10.0

Ouistreham is a ferry port - it is a small town, but a useful starting point for visiting attractions in the surrounding area. The Normandy landings beaches and sites that have associations with William the Conqueror are all easily reached from here. There are good fish restaurants in Ouistreham itself and in nearby coastal villages.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

This is a small early twentieth century town with a magnificent beach and is a super base to explore the area from. There is so much history just a short drive away and the city of Deauville can be reached extremely easily along the coast road. Walking and cycling opportunities are excellent too. The local restaurants are very good - we particularly enjoyed eating at Le Mermoz. The fish market in Trouville was also amazing.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you are a history buff, Courseulles is a great location to explore the main D-Day sites. It is also a good spot for a relaxed family vacation as there are many interesting nature and architectural sites to visit and several excellent trekking trails in the area. As my trip was focused on the 80th D-Day anniversary, I hope to come back and experience the other attractions which Courseulles and the surrounding area offer.Guest review byMelShalevIsrael
