The location, the staff, our room, everything was wonderful. We felt welcome from the start and all staff members ensured our stay became a very pleasant experience. We invited friends for dinner in the restaurant, which was great, too.

The room is no frills, but is clean and has everything you need for either a short or long stay. The kitchenette is sufficient for making a breakfast or snack.

First visit. Easy journey by train from Carcassonne. Everything seems to be in walking distance , mainly on the flat. Great historical value, exceptionally well presented. The good: Flamingos! Miles of beaches. Great places to go walking. Amigoland, though expensive, is fun for kids of all ages - even those in their forties. You can rent motorboats and jetskis in town. For connections, its not far from Montpellier or Marseille. The bad: Restaurants are poor in LGdR. From French to Italian to Asian they all disappointed. Mosquitoes are tenacious all around this area due to miles and miles of open shallow water. Personal verdict: go somewhere else instead.

We liked the very harmonious mix of ancient history and modern attractions. The map provided by the tourist office with 40 interesting points of interest marked for you to wander in your own time very useful. We had drinks in many places but ate in La Vigourie and IX Louis only. Both delicious and great value. Even though one of us has a few mobility problems walking around in short bursts worked fine; the town is small enough. Sunday market was excellent for end of season summer dresses, roast chickens and figs! Walking the ramparts (in flat shoes) is probably a must, educational animations along the way are well done with sub-titles. A week is a good stay length, take a short train ride to the sea-side ports, architectural surprises like La Grande Motte and out into the Camargue flats.

Villeneuve-lès-Avignon is a beautiful place near Avignon. The place has the perfect balance of peace and activity. There is a food fair on Thursdays, an antiques fair on Saturdays and a truck festival on Monday evenings. We visited them all and were delighted. We planned our stay in Anduze to enjoy the local steam train trip from Anduze to Saint Jean du Gard. Our hosts Sara and Jonathon proved to be wonderful. The conversation (in English) flowed and many stories were enjoyed. A recommended local restaurant for dinner was enjoyed plus breakfast on the terrace back at our accommodation. We planned two nights but due to car issues, only managed one.

A wonderful little town with a good range of shops and places to eat. The old part of the town was so beautiful and wandering around the quiet streets was magical. It was great to be so close to the river, where you can swim and relax, as well as the famous Pont du Gard, which we walked to many times during our stay.
