The owners are very friendly, patient, helpful and care about their guests. I have stayed there for a month and tried all types of rooms and all of them have comfortable beds and clean and spacious bathrooms. There is enough parking in the back of the hotel. There are restaurants and bakeries very close by, for all tastes.

The apartment is modern, fresh and light in à quiet residential area. Bus stops on the doorstep for to and from the centre of Vannes. There is nothing at all to dislike about this property. We were welcomed by Audrey, who gave us all the information we needed to ensure à trouble free stay - she was so friendly and helpful, and came to collect the keys on our departure. We went to the Interceltique Festival at Lorient. The town was virtually rebuilt after World War 2 damage and is therefore not all that aesthetically pleasing in itself. However, a good base for hopping on a train to Quimper, Vannes or other 'pretty' destinations.

Auray is a pretty little town and it has a wonderful market on Mondays. One of the best French markets we have been to. There is plenty to explore in the Morbihan (we used the trains a lot as well as our car) We recommend two sights in particular: 1. the megalith stones at Carnac 2. Going inside the submarine at L'Orient

Le Palais is the main town in Belle Ile, which is well named as it is beautiful. It has restaurants, creperies and interesting shops as well as tourist ones. Many people sail here and moor for a night or several. There is a fine 17th century citadel overlooking the town and a little harbour with lots of watch.

Pontivy is a pleasant town, ideally located for a stopover if you are travelling along the Nantes Brest Canal. The architecture is very charming, a mix of Napoleonic and medieval buildings. The central area is pedestrian friendly and has everything you need in terms of shopping. The castle was closed while we were there.

Pretty and extensive medieval centre, very photogenic, lovely shops and eateries. Similarly the port area directly adjacent. If you're going by car the roads and one-way systems are horrible. Head for large car parks rather than try street parking. There are also strange experimental bus lanes that run up the middle of the road and have right of way crossing in front of you. A town and port wander would take a good couple of hours. Buzzes with life in the night.
