The bathrooms were very big and roomy with toiletries and a hairdryer. The kitchenette had a dishwasher, a washier/dryer and a coffee machine. The refrigerator was stocked with Champagne(!) if we wanted to pay extra for it and snack s were also provided. After staying at two other placed that did not provide breakfast, we decided to pay extra to have breakfast delivered to our door every morning. Lyon is France's 2nd city with a strong identity.
Lyon is France's 2nd city with a strong identity. It is full of museums ranging from the traditional art galleries and civic history showcases to unique must-sees like the Lumiere museum celebrating the career of the Lumiere brothers who invented motion pictures. There are many interesting neighborhoods, particularly Vieux Lyon, les Croix Rousse (with lots of frescoes) and the river banks. The metro system is wonderful, fast and frequent, enabling you to travel long distances in very short times. We particularly recommend City Passes, which include unlimited access to the metro, tram, and bus system, along with museums and the fantastic funicular up to the heights of Fourviere. Also, if you have time, take the new Navigone boat service (included in the pass) for a morning or afternoonscruise up the Saone and back, with each way lasting about 40 mins. Lyonnaises are proud of their food, with many unique dishes that deserve a try. You have to like meat, though; vegetarians might find their stay difficult.Guest review byNigelCanada - 10.0

Lyon is a nice city with a town mentality (a good thing). Green areas within walking distance. Pleasant parks and public gardens without crowds. Lots of drinking water fountains. MAC (museum of contemporary art) is really worth visiting. The city centre is a bit crowded but that's nothing compared to overwhelming Paris. Regarding the Villeurbanne itself, river banks are green, no beaches, waffle booths or "tourists" with portable speakers near the river. The streets are mostly empty, though singing and shouting students sometimes appear. A nice quiet district in my opinion. Unfortunately not many food options, you need to go to Lyon centre for something more fancy than student's dinner.Guest review byTeodorPoland - 10.0

Meyzieu is in a great location for Lyon. Easy to go to town with the tram. Supermarket and bakery a short drive from the property. Location near the lake was great for an evening walk. The street this apartment is on is a dead-end, poorly-lit, private street that does not appear on some maps, so it can be very hard to find. The apartment building itself on the street was tricky to find because the street addresses were not consecutive. The door to the apartment was on the ground floor, but once inside the apartment, you had to go up a steep, rickety flight of stairs to get to the apartment itself, which was on the next floor. The apartment is described as a 2-bedroom, but it is not; it is rather a large space with two beds in different, open sections of the apartment, so no privacy at all. Very few electrical outlets and poor lighting. Not particularly clean. The wifi didn't work and when I texted the host about it, he was unhelpful/indifferent. After I left, the host tried to charge me 800 euro for supposedly damaging the television/monitor; when in fact I neither used nor touched the television/monitor the whole time I was there. Very unpleasant. All in all, not a great place to stay. Lyon is a big city so find another accommodation.Guest review byMcCoyUnited States
