Lovely town with great high street lots of independent shops beautiful river walks plenty pubs but only one (at the bridge) with real ale very friendly pub and fun live music on Sunday nights great places to eat especially Coltman’s deli and the chocolate school shop . Great little town filled with fantastic independent shops,...
Great little town filled with fantastic independent shops, the best Charity shop ever (Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland) and the fabulous Cafe U which does the best BLT ever! There are not a huge amount of restaurants but the Cobbles is excellent. Lots of good walks around the town and along the river Tweed. We'd definitely go back if just for the BLT!Guest review byJeanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Dryburgh Abbey is stunning. Melrose also a lovely setting.
Dryburgh Abbey is stunning. Melrose also a lovely setting. You need a car, but area is beautiful. Really interesting Bird Sanctuary near Lauder- good for children and adults. Our best place to eat was in Galashiels- a large Italian restaurant in the centre. Good for gluten free and generally lovely food-with delicious pastries.Guest review byDonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautiful town full of character and places to enjoy food and drink in friendly surroundings. We ate at Bella Italia, (our hosts said it was a great place to eat, and they were right). Great Italian cuisine at very reasonable prices. There are many small shops to explore for gifts for others, or indeed one's self...some of the locally made jewellery is truly beautiful. The pubs are welcoming, and full of choice regarding beers, gins and other tipples. Do yourself a favour and visit, you can thank me later.Guest review byNeilUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Small town to be enjoyed day or night beautifully set in the lowlands. Excellent, reliable bus and taxi services. Numerous supermarkets for choice in addition to many hosterlies. When the sun shines, just close your eyes, breathe in the fresh air and realize how lucky we are to have such beautiful places as Hawick.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Selkirk is not particularly special but it is perfectly located to visit a myriad of interesting places, the most special being the Tapestry of Scotland in Galashiels. A must see, in my view even better than the Bayeux Tapestry. Melrose, Floors Castle, Peebles and many beautiful gardens are all nearby. Easy access to Edinburgh by road or train. 90 minutes to the wonderful Dumfries House.Guest review byTimUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Duns is well positioned in the middle of rural Berwickshire, not far from the sea, the hills ( Lammermuirs and Cheviots ) and many well known beauty spots, Abbeys and places of interest. It houses the Jim Clark Museum. He, along with Duns Scotus have put Duns on the map.Guest review bylilianUnited Kingdom
