- From $141.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 2,099 reviewsI loved the location, being situated on the River Dee is perfect! We walked everywhere, along the River and through lovely gardens, on the ancient wall, to the historic racetrack, to the cathedral, amphitheater, restaurants and pubs. We felt very safe. It was great watching boaters on the river, morning and evening. The room was nice size, very clean with comfortable bed. Breakfast was tasty with nice variety, we had dinner at the restaurant twice also, very convenient. We had a car so onsite parking is a huge plus. Every staff member was pleasant and helpful, no exceptions. Chester is beautiful and I would definitely choose to stay at The Boathouse again.Guest review byMary AnnUnited States

Chester is full of history, beautiful buildings plenty of places to sit and relax and take in the atmosphere. The city is compact but never seems over crowded. There are plenty of shops and cafes. The river is not too far away and is well worth a visit and is close to the beautiful park. The city feels safe and is very clean and is very easy to get to via mersey rail from Liverpool ,hence reducing vehicle use.Guest review bychristineUnited Kingdom - 6.0
The Dog and Partridge is near to the hotel. Bonus.
The Dog and Partridge is near to the hotel. Bonus. External appearance of Paddington Hotel could be so much improved by some simple gardening. Some easy jet-washing would improve the external walls and general appearance. My stay was a mere 'ok'. I just happened to be in Warrington that night. Customer service was adequate, but below average. My room was functional and everything worked. It gets an 'OK' from me, but I wouldn't take my better half there for all the tea in China!Guest review byBishop - 10.0
I went to Crewe to see the local area.
I went to Crewe to see the local area. I visited Nantwich and Sandbach. Nantwich is a lovely small town, and Sandbach is a bit bigger, both lovely to visit. The Market in Nantwich is lovely to visit, and there are a couple of National Trust places we didn't have enough time to visit, but we will do next time.Guest review byTessUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A very convenient location for visiting some great National Trust properties which we had never visited (Dunham Massey, Tatton, Lyme). We enjoyed Knutsford also, eating in the hotel and a variety of restaurants in the town.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Silk Museum is fantastic!
The Silk Museum is fantastic! Wonderful building, museum exhibits, and additionall tour of the silk mill. Very knowledgeable and engaging guide brought the experience and history to life. Could have spent much longer and will definitely return.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Just a short drive from the hotel.
Just a short drive from the hotel. Excellent park in the multi-store, only £2 for 2 hours! Coffee shops galore. Pefect for people watching, car spotting, and football player recognising. And, the charity shops have an up-market range of stock at very reasonable prize for the quality.Guest review byHalsteadUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The venue is amazing.
The venue is amazing. The glass venue at the front of hotel is an eye catching attraction. The actual dining area is spacious with very comfortable seating. The bar staff are very polite and accommodating. I sat relaxing in the bar whilst my husband had a little shut eye, as he had driven most of the way from East Sussex.Guest review byrosellenUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Runcorn is beautiful and we came to visit relatives.
Runcorn is beautiful and we came to visit relatives. But our stay at the hotel wasn’t worth it. It was old and needs overall revamping. Reception staff was nice but the room was so tiny with AC not working and bed was so uncomfortable. Wouldn’t stay at this property again.Guest review byviji - 8.0

Our second stay and we feel very relaxed and at home in the hotel. We booked 3 nights but then booked another night whilst we were there. The breakfast and bar food were excellent and we ate there every evening. Unfortunately we missed breakfast one morning and I wish the meal times had been available in our room as we had paid for two breakfasts. The hotel is very good value for our purpose, visiting our daughter.Guest review byPAMUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Steeped in history and absolutely lovely friendly locals👍.
Steeped in history and absolutely lovely friendly locals👍. Came to the area for a friend’s wedding which was at the town hall, and as self catering didn’t really eat out much as only stayed a few days. Would love to come back and use as a base for more exploring of the area.Guest review bySoniaUnited Kingdom
