I had a wonderful stay! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. My room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, with plenty of options to choose from. Not to mention the exceptional restaurant (listed in the Michelin Guide, which speaks for itself) and the beautiful Sunday roast I enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Derbyshire!

From the moment I booked the team at Merchants Yard went above and beyond to ensure I had the best possible stay. Nothing was a problem for them, organising flowers as we were celebrating our 25th Anniversary, booking a table for dinner, offering advice on things to do near by and much much more. On check in the team were brilliant, friendly welcome and a complimentary drink (thank you). Throughout our stay the team were amazing, always happy and made sure we had everything we needed.     The hotel interior looks amazing. It seems that bar and restaurant area has been redesigned recently, so everything looks quite clean and tidy. Breakfast was okay, some products were missing at buffet (e.g. there were no yogurt during our second breakfast) but it’s minor. Room was excellent, beautiful decoration and lots of tiny details.

    Our stay at the inn was simply great. The staff were very kind and helpful. Food was delicious, we especially enjoyed the Sunday roast. The location is superb, all the hiking trails right at the doorstep and the train station literally around the corner. We will be coming back soon!     The location was great, the apartment spacious, clean and well-equipped with all the mod cons. The beds were great, the showers as well and the kitchen had everything you need to cook anything from a light lunch to something more substantial. Highly recommend Millstream Mews to anyone visiting lovely Bakewell!

    The area was pretty nice, nothing fancy where we were but easy to walk around and safe reliable public transport. We were able to get loads of different foods bits from cafes to restaurants to takeaways and deals, all of which was reasonably priced. The Derbion was great with a variety in the food hall; a great cinema with a wide range of films and comfortable seats; and loads of shops to fulfill any shopping needs.

    Lots to do - food good at Chakra Lounge and Simply Thai. Lovely buildings to visit - the Park, Theatre and Opera House brilliant. Close to Manchester with short train journey which we used to visit was an added bonus. Great for families and couples alike.

    There are so many pubs, bars and restaurants in Chesterfield! Lots of choice which is great. There are also good shops in town and in the out of town centres. You are only 15 minutes drive away from the countryside as you head out of Chesterfield towards Matlock and Bakewell. Chatsworth House is a short drive away.

    it is a small town with character and charm with a great selection of independent bars and restaurants and pubs , where you can eat drink and be merry. It's close to very picturesque countryside with a wealth of walks and places of interest too.It is a lovely place to visit what ever the time of year although in the summer months it can be busy but not as much as nearby Bakewell.

    The Castle is in the centre of Bakewell so very convenient for exploring locally. Chatsworth House is only a few miles away and a great day out. As evening meals are served in the pub, guests can choose to eat in the welcoming atmosphere, but eating fish and chips on a seat by the river is just as romantic!

    Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Nearest train-station is at Hope which is a little over a mile's walk. Views of Mam Tor and sorrounding cliffs are amzingly breathtaking from this town.

    Try the hop on hop off bus to get around good value. You can get to Chatsworth, Castleton and Bakewell and many more in between. Would also recommend the Indian restaurant Maazi in Hathersage plenty of choice and good service.

    There are some community gardens just down the road which were a total delight. Well worth a walk around. Met some lovely people which walking the dog, and one kind gent even took my poop bag for me as he said there wasnt any in the direction we were walking ! Lovely neighbourhood :)

    was travelled to see my son and his family ,this morning we had breakfast with them at the Copper Bar in Long Eaton some of the best poached eggs ive had highly recommend a visit ,we then took his 2 year old to West Park which is a huge municipal park with loads to do with children of all ages ,two play areas sports facilities etc
