Quirky and original in style but not over the top! Very well located with a direct view if the beach. What a nice discovery. The hotel is located within the village and a short walk from historic Corfe Castle. Hotel has it's own parking. Room was well appointed, clean, bright, well furnished and the bed comfortable. Bathroom with shower good and clean. The dining facilities for dinner and breakfast are excellent. Excellent throughout booking and our stay. We were travelling just before storm Bert took hold, and were allowed to book in early and given a parking permit to use for the weekend. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and comfortable, with lots of small touches to make our stay effortless. The fridge with welcome drinks and fresh milk available 24/7.Breakfast was unique, never had a hamper of scrumptious food delivered to my room door in a hamper before. Not only was the food scrumptious, there was plenty for both of us. Then there was the “treat” on Sunday. Homemade Tiramisu, the best we’ve ever had. Will definitely be returning in the near future.

The location and sea view is excellent, quiet, and the rooms very comfy. We had an upgraded room with balcony which had sea view. Lovely garden and lift to all floors. The lounge area with bar was relaxing. Breakfast was more than adequate from buffet to pre-select menu items. We skipped lunch but the dinner menu was limited but adequate. To\he hotel is situated on a low level cliff with a safe stairway to the beach. Being elderly we chose a short drive to the beach. The staff were very helpful and friendly, we enjoyed our stay enormously.

    Lyme Regis is extremely picturesque.

Lyme Regis is extremely picturesque. Coming from London we revelled in the stress-free environment. Plenty of places to eat on and near the seafront. The location is hilly and for older people like us, a car is necessary. Bearing in mind the hills, the local authority has done very well in its provision of car parks near the seafront. Lyme Regis is an enjoyable place to visit in itself but is also near numerous other resorts and attractions. It was our first time in Dorset and we were impressed.

What a gem of a seaside town.

What a gem of a seaside town. The breathtaking scenery of the Jurassic coast with Corfe Castle looming in the near distance... Great pubs and places to eat; fresh pastries and decent coffee. The steam railway, South West Coast Path - and the rose gold sands in front of jaunty beach huts combine to create an atmosphere lost by so many larger, once grander resorts. Some steep hills make the town potentially challenging for wheelchairs. Visiting in autumn when the town had a buzz was fun - unsure about high season visitor volumes and how the small town manages?

Staying in a place on the pier was nice: we barbecued there while the kids were crabbing. The place itself is a little outdated, many closed restaurants (in a bank holiday weekend in august...) but we had a car there so we went elsewhere. Beautiful little beach, cosy flee market on sunday.

Blandford Forum had a lovely park with a large waterlily pond (would be so amazing to visit this in May or whenever the lilies flower!) and a pleasant river walk . The town had a nice place to have a drink (The Crown Hotel) and a Morrisons which was convenient as well as some coffee shops and small unusual shops. There were some lovely charity shops and the town was a welcome refuge from the more busier places we could have visited. I went to the fashion museum. It was a pleasant small town.
