The harbour is charming, and seeing the difference between high and low tide is remarkable. There is a lot of traffic on the high street but the shops are charming and mostly seem to be independent. Locally there is a great brewery, lovely beach and leisure centre with decent pool.Guest review byCeslynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

North Berwick is an adorable seaside town with beautiful scenic views and an amazing golf course. We enjoyed the quaint shops and restaurants as well as hiking the law. Getting around was so simple. We walked everywhere and found it so easy to go back and forth to our accommodations. One word of caution, most places stop serving dinner by 8:00pm. Wonderful place to visit!Guest review bygretchenUnited States - 10.0

Lovely quiet resort close to amenities with an excellent bus service. Went into Edinburgh every day and saw lots of sites such as the castle / dungeons/ Mary Kings close/ Obscura observatory and a witchy museum. We ate on site or in Edinburgh. All in all we had a fantastic time and made loads of memories.Guest review bySUSANUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Just very disappointing, nice looking pictures online but the reality is far removed. Probably ok for 4 lads looking for a place to crash and go into the city but the slightly more discerning amongst you will find this second floor property, complete with ghetto style entrance and stairways rather lacking.Guest review byDanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The waterside bistro is a short walk through St Mary's churchyard, which is opposite the hotel, food was delicious, there is a lovely walk along the riverside, and also another pub The Tyneside Tavern which has a great italian style restaurant. Haddington is a lovely picturesque little town, & quite central for visiting North Berwick, and a good distance to get into Edinburgh, where you can park & ride, picking up a tram at The Port of LeithGuest review bykennethUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We love Gullane as we love beach walks.
We love Gullane as we love beach walks. In a daily basis we beach-walked from Gullane to North Berwick or Gullane towards Aberlady and the beaches are glorious. Although we were based in Gullane we didn’t restrict our stay to Gullane. Several lovely towns along the east coast are within easy reach.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a lovely, old pub/hotel with many quaint features. Accommodation was clean and comfortable. The shower was excellent! The staff in the bar and restaurant were really friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and the service was superb. Good selection of beers and a varied menu meant plenty of choices for all age groups. Will certainly stay again.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0
East Linton is a quiet village.
East Linton is a quiet village. Our chosen accommodation had no parking facilities but we were able to park in the street with little difficulty. The hotel was a mere six minutes walk from East Linton railway station and the train journey to and from Edinburgh Waverley was only twenty minutes. Therefore, it provides an excellent and cost effective means of visiting and exploring the capital.Guest review byMan_of_GwentUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This very ancient village with beautiful architecture peace, rivers and forests near by was a real find. I highly recommend, so near to Edinburgh and the beautiful Bass Rock off the coast of North Berwick. I enjoyed boat trips to find gannets, puffins, dolphins and learnt about the historic coast line and it’s Second World War activity!!! Who could resist lobster for lunch at the Lobster shack North Berwick!!Guest review byHilaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dirleton Castle is really beautiful, an extensive ruin, with turrets, cellars, and a prison cell to visit. It has very fine gardens laid out in the Arts and Crafts style. Oddly, it doesn't look much from the road, but it is actually a major attraction - we spent about two hours there. We also used Dirleton to travel into Edinburgh, it takes over an hour on the bus, but the bus is approximately £7.50 return and it is very regular. We ate at the Castle Inn, where we also stayed - it was great.Guest review byTowers
