It was a great old property with lots of character. The bed room was spacious with comfortable in room facilities. It had great water pressure for shower. The lounge had real fire place. The restaurant had great food. The charcuterie and he lamb was great. The wines were reasonably priced. The grounds were fabulous. The hotel is slightly remote but well worth going there to stay. If I ever return to the Isle of Skye, I will stay there again.

+Great, spacious room in high standard with comfortable bed. +Supportive and helpful staff. +The view wasn't the greatest, as the hotel on the other side was covering some part of lovely Cairngorms landscape, but overall, the location, the quality of the room was exceeding expectations.     We stayed for 3 nights - 4 adults and 3 young kids and we had a wonderfull vacation. The place is amazing. The house was big, clean and had everything you need for a long stay - big livingroom, long big table, full kithcen with dishwasher, 2 bathrooms and showers, washing maching and also a sauna and a balcony. The 3 bedrooms were big and comfortable. The place has free pool, gym and souna which is great, especially when you are with kids. Also great fields and grass for the kids to play. Wifi was good and ofcourse free parking. Location is also great near Avimor, easy base to travel around.

    Only had a day there but went on a boat trip in the morning. Nice little shopping centre and the church was worth a visit. Lots of shops, pubs and eating places. Had a very nice dinner at Crannog restaurant. We were too late to see the Museum as it was just shutting at 4.00 pm.

    I love this neck of the woods.

    I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.

    Skye is beautiful but expensive. Lodging is hard to find, expensive. Restaurants are crowded. The weather is..the weather. We hit lots of rain. People told us unusually bad for September. But so much to see there.

    Our place was just down around the corner from great...

    Our place was just down around the corner from great restaurants and shops. The ferry is docked there. Fishing boats and guided tour boats. We were lucky enough to have car so we drove out to the lighthouse which was picture perfect. On our way home to our home away from home (CEOL MARA) we stopped by chance at Rhueart Gallery . It was truly wonderful to meet James Hawkins , artist supreme .

    A poor and unattractive place. Most shops were empty and nothing was looked after, except a superb flower garden around a statue in a little square near the hotel. It was difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. Quite depressing environment.

    A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle is located just outside the village. The village itself is very pleasant with a beautiful village green which had a market on it the day we left. The Fiddlers Restaurant on the village green was a great place to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Urquhart Castle is well worth visiting with a great visitor centre and Loch Ness as a splendid backdrop to the stunning castle remains.

    The lodge is set in an absolutely amazing spot, with stunning surroundings that make it a truly memorable location. However, we did feel that the price was quite high compared to the overall services offered. The dinner and breakfast areas lacked atmosphere and coziness, while the food itself was fine. Our room had a mattress with one side noticeably deeper from frequent seating, which made sleeping uncomfortable (especially since it was our only chance to rest for one night during our road trip). On the positive side, the personnel and the manager were all very kind and welcoming. That said, there seemed to be too few staff members at times to maintain the level of service one might expect at this price point. Overall, a beautiful place with great potential, but a few improvements could make it truly exceptional.
