We absolutely loved our stay at The Salt House, the owners are lovely and have put so much thought and care into the property. There were lots of little touches that made the stay special. Our room was really cosy and unique, with one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of homemade granola, and avocado and eggs on toast. I highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay again.

I stayed in Inverness for a week. I loved it.

I stayed in Inverness for a week. I loved it. It is a great small place to explore both Inverness and also surrounding areas. The modern city has a good combination of beautiful nature and historical aspects. Many interesting places are close together so very walkable. I thought it was very cleaner and brighter than Edinburgh. I felt a sense of calmness there after visiting Edinburgh. (I like Edinburgh, no offence here). I did a bus tour to Isle of Skye and one day visit to Fort Augustas. There were many tours available from Inverness and transport system is very convenient. Bus drivers were funny and kind. Weather was good too. It was beginning of September, some mornings were a little bit chilly, but daytimes were mostly pleasant and showed blue sky every day. I enjoyed everything about Inverness. I truly recommend spending some time over there when you have a chance to visit.

Only had a day there but went on a boat trip in the morning. Nice little shopping centre and the church was worth a visit. Lots of shops, pubs and eating places. Had a very nice dinner at Crannog restaurant. We were too late to see the Museum as it was just shutting at 4.00 pm.

I love this neck of the woods. Plenty to do if you are an outdoors person or just want a break from busy places. It is a nice laid back location where there is a lot less hassle. Lots of nice food places - either restaurants or take-aways and plenty of shops where you could buy your own food if you don't want to go out. Highly recommended. If the weather is not so good there are plenty of lovely places you can drive to within 45 minutes.

Our place was just down around the corner from great restaurants and shops. The ferry is docked there. Fishing boats and guided tour boats. We were lucky enough to have car so we drove out to the lighthouse which was picture perfect. On our way home to our home away from home (CEOL MARA) we stopped by chance at Rhueart Gallery . It was truly wonderful to meet James Hawkins , artist supreme .

Lovely little shops to walk in and out of. You get to watch the loch in action with the four levels the boats have to go through to get to the next section. This is very interesting and a good place to watch this. There are many walks you can do along the Loch which are very picturesque.

A great place for boat tours of Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle is located just outside the village. The village itself is very pleasant with a beautiful village green which had a market on it the day we left. The Fiddlers Restaurant on the village green was a great place to eat, drink and watch the world go by. Urquhart Castle is well worth visiting with a great visitor centre and Loch Ness as a splendid backdrop to the stunning castle remains.
