The Hotel is owned and run by people from the Island Community. That's a wonderful thing because it means that the hotel is connected to the place in which it is situated and Iona is a very special place. The Staff are sound, the food was great and the location is wonderful. The three of us travelled by bicycle from Oban. We will be back for sure. Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.

Amazing place. A lot of energy and empathy by a young team. Very enjoy full on all fronts. Very supportive. Amazing distillery tour. Nuala is a great, experienced and eager person to explain you all about the distillery. Highly recommendable. At risk of not being able to find a vacancy when coming back.

Very nice place, the salmon for dinner is very good. BUT BEWARE!! Don't trust Google Maps or Apple Maps: the hotel is 300 meters straight from the port; I was on a bike and had to do the mountain grand prix twice (there and back) because the GPS sends you to the other side of the island, to The Colonsay Apartments, even if it is indicated as The Colonsay Hotel. The photo is what the GPS says, but the hotel is close to the start.

The staff were very pleasant. The dear lady who checked us in(unfortunately forgot her name) was so pleasant. The place had no mobile network and that feeling of being cut off was great especially coming from a busy and bustling city like London. Everyone at the hotel were informal and the people around seemed warm and felt like a big family. I highly recommend to stay here for a day or two when on a trip to the Isle of Skye.

Everything in the motorhome was super well maintained and clean. Sea view from the motorhome - we saw a couple of seals. This island is less touristy, there is one shop, one restaurant and that's it:)The hike to Cullipool through Cnoc hill has great views. For those looking to reset and enjoy the silence.

The entire location is stunning. Be prepared for lots of photos. Just walk along the row of shops, get some fish and chips or an ice cream and enjoy the view. Some accommodation places are high up on the hill so if mobility is a problem then recommend down on waterfront level. Most accommodations have rooms up stairs as well. I would return again. Tobermory is just beautiful.

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our various planned activities - whisky tour, puffin tour, walking Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr. The two shops had enough for the grocery essentials and there were several cafes and restaurants to provide choice. The castle was interesting though a bit pricey.

Sconser is quite small but it is central to most of Skye and the Raasay ferry is on your doorstep (lovely walking at the north of the island and up Dun Can, lots of eagles, Brochel Castle, a distillery). The village is set back on a road parallel to the main road and houses look forward to the sea and Raasay and backwards to the mountain Glamaig (great views both ways). The Sconser Lodge Hotel has a cosy bar with open fireplace. Their restaurant is open to non-residents when they can cope with numbers so nip in and chat about available dates well in advance.
