We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Sneaton Castle. The room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed. Everything was well maintained. The attention to detail was very good. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. We dined at the restaurant one evening and the food was first rate. Great chefs here. They even created a special birthday cake which was the best we have had period. I could not fault Sneaton Castle in any way.

We loved our 2 night stay at this wonderful old pub! Malham is such a quaint, beautiful village and it's location is perfect for exploring the Yorkshire Dales NP with Malham Cove just a very short walk away... The room was very comfortable and the food at the pub was excellent, especially the breakfast. A big shout out to Tim who was charming and very attentive looking after us at breakfast both mornings!!

Stunning!....we loved our stay, from driving up the long driveway that runs by the golf course, to the stunning gold hands on the front doors, enormous chairs in the foyer, it was just great. Staff are excellent, professional and friendly. Our evening meal was excellent as was breakfast. 100% recommend. Great place for couples to get away for a weekend, golf, petanque, croquet, chess in the garden, a spa will be ready in November.

Really friendly professional staff nothing too much trouble. We had a bit of an issue with the toilet flush which was resolved within half hour of our arrival. Stylish room with quality fittings. Liked that it was outside with easy access so didn't need to worry too much of disturbing anyone on our late return. The weather was really hot the weekend we visited but the room was pleasantly cool. Beautiful location, great views, nice being a little way out of the hustle and bustle of busy Scarborough. Would go back if was staying in the area again for a short break

We loved staying here, the village was beautiful and the pub amazing! Food was outstanding! Our room was fab, absolutely no complaints. The owner and her team could not have been nicer, especially when we thought we might not make it home due to a bad storm. Lovely lovely people and we will defiantly be back to stay and explore the local area more. Thanks for a wonderful weekend

This is a stunning, modern hotel which has recently opened. A lot of thought has gone into the decor and furnishings which are very tasteful. We stayed in a beautiful bedroom with a gorgeous en-suite bathroom. The large double bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was included in the price and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. It was served in the conservatory overlooking a delightful garden. Hospitality was first class as all the staff we encountered at Dewars were friendly and attentive.

Great place for coastal walks and trying local beers.

Great place for coastal walks and trying local beers. Plenty of history regarding Captain Cook, and the Dracula legend. The beach looks like it would be great in summer, we visited off season so all we did was walk along it. It looks like there would be plenty of sightseeing trips by boat, and fishing trips, available in summer. There is a great variety of restaurants, pubs, and smaller hotels, which should cater for most tastes. The emphasis is on fish dishes, and local beers and gins. There's no need for a car around town, but it is hilly. Bring decent walking shoes!

Lovely, independent shops - 'Hats on top', (bought 3 hats!), cheese shop - wide variety of local produce, york soap company - so inventive. Great coffee shops and tea rooms - Mama Doreen's Emporium - great decor, the iconic Betty's - pricey but worth it, definitely book in advance. Wide choice of interesting restaurants Lilypad -outstanding for unusual and delicious food and interesting craft beers and cocktails, Drum and Monkey - great for fish. The Pump House Museum was interesting and well thought out. We missed out on the walking tour of Harrogate. The open doors day at the Royal Hall was interesting. Out of town we visited Forbidden Corner - weirdly fun and so quirky.

Typical seaside amusements if you like that kind of thing but the quieter parts and surrounding countryside including Cleveland Way walks superb. I fell in love with Scarborough.

This is a lovely and picturesque town in the incomparably lovely Yorkshire dales. There is a lovely market square with nice shops and restaurants, a fabulous Georgean theatre, a terrific castle to explore, and a nearby ruined abby that is an easy walk from the centre of town. We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river, birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. It also lacked a really busy main road cutting through (at least, from where we were staying) so not much traffic noise and easy to get about without getting knocked down!

Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town.

Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town. Plenty to see from the town square and high street. Down to the river walks, The Lady Chapel, The Castle. River boats (but only till October) Mother Shipton's Cave. Got to mention the very quaint and beautiful railway station. It is quite hilly but with patience and care it can be got around we are in our late 60's and we managed. Watch out for the blue plaques on the historical buildings reading them is a real eye opener. Plenty of pubs to choose from but the Worlds End Pub has to be our favourite. The food there was very reasonably priced. Portion size is very generous and well presented and the staff are lovely nice place to take a break.

thirsk is not the biggest of places but it was very nice, only thing is, if you need a taxi, regardless if their is racing on or not, you cannot get one, it seems that the odd individual people have one car and thats it, there's no taxi company as such and its pot luck if you manage to get one.

Settle is a lovely little town. We were there in the rain, but could still enjoy what it has to offer. The musuem is free to visit and a good way to learn a little of the history. Nice Chinese take-away thats good value too. Scenery nearby is stunning- would definitely recommend taking the train to Carlisle, across the Ribblehead viaduct. (Road route of settle to hawes is beautiful too, even in a downpour) We would definitely like to return to the area. A weekend visit was too short!
