Our place was just down around the corner from great restaurants and shops. The ferry is docked there. Fishing boats and guided tour boats. We were lucky enough to have car so we drove out to the lighthouse which was picture perfect. On our way home to our home away from home (CEOL MARA) we stopped by chance at Rhueart Gallery . It was truly wonderful to meet James Hawkins , artist supreme .Guest review byBarbCanada - 2.0
A poor and unattractive place.
A poor and unattractive place. Most shops were empty and nothing was looked after, except a superb flower garden around a statue in a little square near the hotel. It was difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. Quite depressing environment.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dingwall is a pleasant, old-style country town of small shops and cheerful people. Like everywhere in Britain, there are signs of social deprivation, but as a visitor you are made to feel very welcome. It is a great centre for touring in your own vehicle or like us, public transport. The Kyle of Lochalsh and Far North railways set off from Dingwall. Closer are the spa town of Strathpeffer and the Black Isle. Take the hourly bus 27 from Hill Street to Strathpeffer, and walk back along the newly-opened old railway trail to Dingwall, or along the adjacent hills, with stunning views. Forget crowded Inverness, Dingwall has character!Guest review byNigelUnited Kingdom - 6.0

It was central for my visit as I was travelling by public transport as I don't drive and wanted to do the NC500 I wanted to do some walking and visit local attractions like Whaligo steps John O Groats Duncansby Head and Stacks . Take a book and find a seat because buses are spot on time but not regular also wanted to walk to Castle Sinclair GirnigoeGuest review byKathleenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We enjoyed visiting the water fall and walking in the woods and along the coastal path. We had tea and cake at the golf club. They were absolutely wonderful. They allow dogs in too. We highly recommend a visit, even if you don’t play golf. The Old Inn pub was very welcoming too. Especially if you have dogs. The mountain coffee shops and book shop was excellent too.Guest review byChristineUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village.
Strathpeffer is a very attractive small Scottish village. For the size of the village it has four perhaps five good places to eat. Numerous old trees included a couple of giant redwoods usually found in America. Very relaxing place to spend a few days. It's also is a good touring base allowing you to go North, South, East and West.Guest review byGraeme J.United Kingdom - 10.0

Tain is a lovely quiet place to stay in but i did not like the restaurant at the Station. Overpriced basic food which i would not go back for. I wish i had gone to the Tesco along the road, bought 3 Rib Eye Steaks and cooked at home as it would have been much better value for money!!!Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dornoch surprised us with its beauty - a thriving little town with lovely little shops and obviously proud of its local history. Well-kept and clean it was a pleasure to walk around. The museum is excellent - well laid out presentations on different aspects and characters of the town's past and some interesting videos. The beach is beautiful too and well worth a visit. Plenty of choice for where to eat. We had an excellent dinner at The Eagle and lunch next day at the lovely Sandstone Cafe. Highly recommend both.Guest review byMagi33United Kingdom - 10.0

Very peaceful by the sea and well kept grounds, finding it was a mission but once there enjoyed the views and stay. If you are looking for a jacuzzi they haven't got one, but thoroughly enjoyed the trip nature walks and beaches nearby and got lucky whale/dolphin watching on a boat trip from ullapool. Had a nice family time.Guest review byPrashanthUnited Kingdom - 6.0
