Superb Landscapes and Thriving Cities

Situated on the green island of Ireland, Northern Ireland is a land of fascinating history and magnificent landscapes. From stunning coastline and vast mountains to lively cities, Northern Ireland has more than enough tempting attractions.

Birthplace of the legendary Titanic, Belfast is the region’s vibrant capital and 2nd largest city on the island. Recovering after more than 30 years of the Troubles, it is a popular city-break destination with a thriving nightlife, fascinating mural tours and great restaurants.

North-west from Belfast is Londonderry, also known as Derry, a modern city awarded with the UK City of Culture 2013 title and well-known for its intact medieval city walls. Nearby you can find Coleraine, a 20-minute drive from the world-renowned Giant’s Causeway, one of Northern Ireland’s major tourist attractions.

A visit to a small village of Bushmills, 15 km from Coleraine, and the world’s oldest distillery is a must for all Irish whiskey fans. For more outdoorsy types, Northern Ireland has plenty to offer: breathtaking views, steep rocky cliffs and turquoise sea, all part of its awe-inspiring North Coast. The hotel is so conveniently located in Derry, easy to get to everywhere we wanted to go on our trip. Room was spacious, clean and bright. The staff at the hotel were so lovely and friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay special and sent a bottle of champagne to celebrate my 60 th birthday. All of the reception staff were amazing but I have to give a special mention to Katie who was so exceptional . Would come back here without hesitation and throughly recommend a stay here.

Of all our stops during our three-week tour of the Emerald Isle we were just a little anxious about Belfast, what with its history of "The Troubles" and it's being a larger city. After three days there we can heartily recommend a visit there. We loved taking an informative, moving "Black Taxi Tour" of the Peace Walls and the "Checkpoint Charlies." We felt safe enough that we drove back there later to see more of the Catholic and Protestant neighborhoods. Another highlight for us was the Ulster Museum, which had outstanding exhibits including a section devoted to The Troubles. For us, three days was just the right amount of time to see so many things Belfast had to offer.

Feels like a fairy tale city. Very lovely, walkable as long as you can manage hills. Tone of history, so do your homework before you go, and you'll get more out of it. Taxis reasonable, people lovely! I did a walking tour of the city walls which was most enjoyable. Lots of good places to eat.

Enniskillen has so much to offer, from lakes and places to go and see. Marble Arch caves is definitely worth a visit. Castle Archdale, is a must. The countryside is beautiful. Bushmills is a great base location if visiting Northern Ireland and in particular the North Antrim coast. We visited cities and towns such as Belfast, Coleraine, Portrush, Portstewart, Ballymoney, Ballycastle and Ballintoy and attractions like the Giants Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Carrick-a-rede rope bridge, Ballintoy harbour etc. Bushmills has a number of Fish & Chip shops, Chinese takeaways and coffee shops which we sampled. Our favourite two places to eat out were the Sizzlin Sausage in Ballymoney (for a proper Irish Fried breakfast) and the Water Margin Chinese restaurant in Coleraine; both definitely worth a visit. You can't visit the area without trying Morelli's Ice-cream, which we did in Portstewart, Portrush and Ballycastle :-)

It is a small town but a great point for visiting the Mourne mountains and beaches. Some individual gift and clothes boutiques. Good choice of restaurants and cafes. We also drove to Banbridge for the cinema at the outlet stores I go for the peace and quiet in September as not so many holiday makers then.

The little town Camlough we stayed in was really lovely and you can walk around it's shops easily as they are close together. Great variety of places to eat and a large nisa extra convenient store. Being a coffee lover, I never seen as many signs advertising coffee available along our traveling route it was amazing but such a tease as you can't be having coffee pit stops every 5 minutes or my partner would just leave me out by one of the coffee trailers for the whole day by myself lol.
