The location and premises were great. I enjoyed having a nice pint of cider at the bar. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I am not used to the British cold so it was really nice to have a space heater in the room. There is a lot of restaurants and a Supermarket/mall a couple minutes away. The tram is less than 10 minutes away, and the buses even closer. If the opportunity to return to Sheffield comes, this is the first place I’ll look for a room. Thank you Garrison!

The hotel is in an excellent location. The car park is just behind the hotel. If you want a cooked breakfast, Weatherspoons is 50m from the hotel. It was very busy the night we were there, but our stay was perfect. A bed with a bathroom and toilet ensuite. If you're looking for a "special night" this is not your place. But if, like us you are looking for a hassle free base, this is the place.

I only came to see my friend who started to study at the University. But it was really nice surprise how the city was nice. People are very friendly. I love the old buildings, old church, and the new architecture, all nicely mixed and nicely done. I also love the tram. I felt the city was really safe. Lots of nice restaurants and pubs. I also found very reasonable guesthouse with the parking. This guesthouse made me to stay longer in the city. the size of the city is just right. Not too big. Not too small. I am looking forward to going back next month to explore more.

The Castle is in the centre of Bakewell so very convenient for exploring locally. Chatsworth House is only a few miles away and a great day out. Small town, as a good base-location to walks to Mam tor (and back), the various Caverns (ticketed entry mostly), and the Cave Dale - a beautiful picturesque rocky trek with extremely steep slopes either side. Stockport´s location in a ravine with a Victorian viaduct towering overhead makes for a very unusual and intriguing town. Also most interesting are the timber frame houses one finds from Tudor times. Lots of pubs and not generic ones either.
