One of the coolest hotels we've ever stayed in. The room was lovely and big, the staff were amazing and the breakfast was wonderful (lots of calories though 😄). Surprisingly, the hotel itself (rooms & lounge) was very quiet although the restaurant and bar were always hectic with lots of happy people🍺. Great stay overall!

Lovely room, spacious and tastefully decorated. Bathroom is big and with a nice shower. Loved the desk as I was travelling for wok so it was nice to have a sturdy, large area to work at without feeling like I was cramped in a corner. Buffet breakfast is generous and very tasty, and everyone was very helpful and polite. I asked to check-in early and reception was kind enough to let me do so. Excellent location and lots of amenities around.

This place is an absolute gem and offers excellent value for money. It’s located in a stunning spot right on the loch, providing beautiful views. The cottage was spacious, impeccably maintained, and spotlessly clean. It had everything our family of four needed, including a well-equipped kitchen. The spa and pool were wonderful additions to our stay. A special mention goes to the staff—everyone was incredibly kind and helpful. In particular, Wanda, the receptionist, went above and beyond to ensure we had an enjoyable experience.

Breakfast was delicious with home made granola, and bread with lovely home made jam. The full scottish breakfast was superb. The conservatory was a beautiful place to eat and to view the gorgeous well kept garden (to which guests have access). The house has been beautifully furnished and much thought has been given to the interesting art. The hosts go absolutely above and beyond to make their guests comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, even down to the variety of gins in the honesty bar! Would definitely recommend.

I've always loved Edinburgh, it's got something for everyone and has a great vibe. The addition of the trams since I was last there adds to the travel options. Leith is and always has been a personal favourite, was a good 25 years since I was there and it's changed so much, some of the character has been lost where traditional buildings have been demolished to make way for new flats etc, but still a great area to visit.

I travelled to Glasgow to attend a concert ( Half Man Half Biscuit at the o2 ) , to meet up with some friends , and to visit the Riverboat Casino . I was also there to pay a visit to my sister and her family , who live in Renfrewshire . My friend and I ate at the Blue Lagoon outlet in St Enoch's Square shopping centre , which was quick and convenient . But couldn't be described as anything other than fast food , in fairly uncomfortable surroundings . We stopped for a drink in Hootanany's on our walk across the Clyde to the enjoyable gig at the o2 . I went to the Riverboat Casino afterwards , and enjoyed a small win . I booked a taxi from there back to my hotel , and retired for the night . Everything went well . I should mention that the breaded haddock was very good at the Blue Lagoon .

Interesting tourist-oriented town with plenty to do in the vicinity especially if you like the outdoor life. A choice of restaurants including the Tavern where there’s good, no-nonsense traditional cooking such as mince and mash, and chicken breast stuffed with haggis served with mash and a warming whisky sauce. The trip up the mountain in the gondola just outside was also a highlight . The view was shrouded in low cloud at first but gradually cleared to reveal a fantastic panorama.

Oban is our place to catch a ferry to the islands and where we land on return. It is a busy town, the harbour and Dunollie being our chief interest the short time we are there, watching the ferries and other vessels sailing off or returning to harbour is always a pleasure. As such it always has an air of excitement about it, the anticipation of a ferry journey amongst and to beautiful islands. Therefore it is always a pleasure to be in Oban.

Aviemore has a great buzz about it – a proper gateway to the Cairngorms with a strong tourist vibe that makes it feel lively year-round. The high street is packed with outdoor shops, from big names like Ellis Brigham and Tiso to smaller independents, so whether you’re after hiking boots, ski gear or a new waterproof, you’re well catered for. There’s also a good mix of cafés, pubs and restaurants, which keeps the place welcoming after a day outdoors. It’s the kind of town where you instantly feel in “holiday mode,” with a steady flow of visitors giving it energy without losing its Highland charm.
