- From US$182.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 420 reviewsThis is an older, more traditional style of hotel, but personally I prefer that. The facilities were all that one would expect of a modern hotel (except that there isn't a lift). The hotel is on the main street in the centre of town, but they had their own car park, so parking my car was easy. My room was very nice, and quite spacious. The en-suite was a good size. The bed was very comfy, with nice big pillows. I had a drink in the bar (local beer - very good) and ate in the restaurant on both nights of my stay and was very pleased. The "head waiter" was particularly good - very efficient and friendly, without being over the top. The other staff were also very efficient and the food was very good. The breakfast was also very nice.Guest review byRichardAustralia

There’s a pool, a games room, even a sitting room for the dogs who are staying in the hotel. There was even a harpist entertaining in the evening! The whole place is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, and there are lots of original art works around. The location is great and there’s lots of safe parking on site. The staff are helpful and friendly.Guest review byMaggieAustralia

The Town has a good many shops selling outdoor clothing, a number of cafes and hotel/restaurants. A small bakers but not a decent handy supermarket if you are self catering. Take your time exploring the town but don't expect too much. Good service and good food at the nearby Swallow Falls Inn. The Swallow Falls themselves are disappointingGuest review byphilipUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Conwy is a busy friendly town.
Conwy is a busy friendly town. It has lovely shops, delicatessen, pubs, cafes and restaurants. The harbour is at the bottom end of the High Street where you will find the smallest house and river cruises. There is a lovely coastal walk to the marina from the harbour. The railway station and bus services are excellent.Guest review byPamelaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
You can never have too long in Llanberis area!
You can never have too long in Llanberis area! The mountains & lakes are stunning, and there is so much else to explore too. Snowdonia has a magical quality to it that makes it so special. Llanberis is also a great base from which to explore outlying places e.g. during my trip, as well as completing my main goals of climbing Snowdon and Tryfan, I took daytrips from Llanberis to Caernarfon and Anglesey on one day and Llandudno & Conwy on the other, visiting castles, National Trust properties and beaches on teh way. The various driving routes to and from these places back to Llanberis were a joy in themselves. The nearby Pen-y-Gwryd hotel is so interesting, steeped in mountaineering / Everest history - although it was lovely to have the place almost to myself to look around, it is a shame it is not promoted a bit more as a place to visit for a cup of tea / place to stay.Guest review bySerenaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great base to explore other interesting places and especially by train. Barmouth has enough entrainment for all ages and the beach is amazing and so clean. A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!Guest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

There is a community annual newspaper available listing and describing a variety of hikes. I personally took the Precipice trail, a two hour easy to moderate trail, only about 4 km from town, with it's own courtesy carpark and toilets. Minimum elevation change with scenic views. Would highly recommend the Stag Inn and Royal Ship hotel for food and drink. The Torrent Walk hotel was also a favorite.Guest review byCraig - 6.0

If you are looking for an amazing beach with great dunes for long walks Aberdyfi is great. Other than that it is a very quiet seaside town with a few shops and places to eat. There is a train station that can take you along the coast, also a golf club and a bowling clubGuest review byAmandaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed in the absolutely wonderful Gwesty Seren Hotel and did the 70 mph Titan Zip line, fantastic. Take a bee-line for the grapes hotel bar and restaurant to eat out, amazing. Photo is one of the amazing views from the Gwesty Seren HotelGuest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake.
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake. It seems to consist mainly of one high Street with various shops, pubs and eateries. The lake is beautiful. We hired a double kayak which cost 40.00ph and the whole hiring process was super easy. We also did the steam train ride along the lake which was lovely. There's lots more to explore so I'd definitely go back for a couple of days and explore the area some more.Guest review bysueUnited Kingdom
