Exactly what we were looking for, an old village pub near Stirling with a few rooms upstairs, a refreshing break from generic “chain” hotels. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and this made for a great experience. Breakfast was freshly made for us each morning, and was delicious. We had dinner there the first night and it was so good we ate there the following nights of our stay as well.

Clean, organised environment. All with easy access and well-oriented. The staff are excellent, polite and helpful. We had problems with our rental car at the enterprise company. The manager was requested, helped us solve the problem and even took us to the company to solve it. We have no words to thank you for your help and that of all the employees.

We’ve been here a few times now. I love how peaceful the area is. Always feels very welcoming and staff work so hard. We had dinner in the Bar area and the portions are very good. I had a great stay at Balquhidder Braes. We rented a log cabin with a hot tub, and it exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was perfect - spacious and secluded, with the water at just the right temperature. The log cabin itself was very cozy, and the living room had plenty of space for everyone. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. Definetly recommended!

Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Glasgow in easy distance (45mins by car).

Great location and views. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms were clean comfortable and good value. Spent a very comfortable night in all. Didn’t mind stripping bed in am and disposing of linen to be cleaned. It was reassuring that we had clean linen. In some other places we weren’t sure if this was the case. I would recommend Rowardennan to others.
