The Maple Manor hotel is just adequate.
The Maple Manor hotel is just adequate. The facilities (or certainly our room) had recently been updated and was modern. The shower area though needed a complete overall, with the tiling requiring a re grout. This spoilt otherwise a more than adequate bathroom. Breakfast was again more than adequate with a choice of warm or continental food. Parking facilities are plentiful with a large area to the rear of the hotel, which is not secure but there is CCTV covering the area. The hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride to the airport which costs around £25. However the main issue with the proximity of the hotel is that it is close to the airport runway. So if you require a decent nights sleep before your flight, then this hotel is NOT for you.Guest review byWayne BeddowsUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Chichester is a beautiful city.
Chichester is a beautiful city. Everything is within walking distance. Loads of beautiful walks, shops, buildings and places to eat. The cathedral is stunning, as is the gardens, and the markets were great. It's a very clean and friendly place. Definitely worth a visit.Guest review byCollette - 8.0

The coastline near Worthing was quite relaxing and the sun shone each day. The National Trust visits to Petworth and Nymans were most enjoyable. We went to The Swallows Return twice and found the quality of the food to be first class and the ambience of the facilities to our liking.Guest review byPatrickUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A very good place for a short stay, pleasant to walk round with a good selection of eating establishments. Historic buildings and churches were good to visit and the castle on the hill ruling overall.Guest review byDAVIDUnited Kingdom - 6.0
We have known the town of East Grindstead of many years...
We have known the town of East Grindstead of many years having grown up in a village very close by and attending school there. In our opinion, it is not as nice as it was, we moved away some 10 years ago to escape the never ending urban sprawl, high street decline, and neon monstrosities built after demolishing irreplaceable period buildings. That said, there isn't really a lot to do, and is best summed up as a stop over for Gatwick Airport, a shame really as we have many fond memories.Guest review byJames TuckerUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bognor Regis itself is a typical sea side town but does require some modernisation and a bit of TLC... however we stayed close to Aldwick which was lovely and easily accessible to the esplanade, the public transport links and the shops. A fabulous day spent at Pagham (caught the bus from Aldwick) and the nature reserve there is truly beautiful and well worth a visit.Guest review byFortune - 10.0

we only went to the hickstead showground but near to hotel is a burger king but we ate at the hotel. food at hickstead was lovely and was served from 5pm to 9pm. pedestrian access to the hickstead showground is a bit odd and could be easily missed, you first pass lot of locked gates on the main busy road, they say Breen Equestrian on them then another plain black gate and you can see showground beyond it then its a narrow short rough path looks like just cut through some hedges but thats the way in for pedestrians. Walkable from hickstead hotel.Guest review bysusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Besides having time with an old friend who lives in Steyning...
Besides having time with an old friend who lives in Steyning, I especially enjoyed walking up onto the Downs (via the Upper Horseshoe trail) and admiring the wonderful view of the Downs and the sea and the Weald of Sussex. I was impressed by the Community Orchard and the conservation scheme to re-establish species-rich chalk grassland. I made good use of the buses - would have been stranded without them! I enjoyed a brief visit to the parish church and was sorry not to have more time to have a good look round the museum. I enjoyed a good meal in an Italian restaurant near the Clock Tower.Guest review byGordonGermany
