- From US$129.28 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.3Good - What previous guests thought, 737 reviewsI booked out this hotel for family and friends to stay in following my wedding. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful in the booking process and did everything they could to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The hotel only offered continental breakfast, but given that we had booked out the whole hotel, they agreed to do a hot breakfast on a pre-order, which was fantastic! Our family and friends also enjoyed the restaurant and bar the evening before, both areas of which are nicely designed and have a nice ambience. Some of the rooms are quite old-fashioned in terms of aesthetics, but The Lansdowne is such an old hotel, and the majority of the hotel has been recently refurbished. This also didn't impact the level of cleanliness and the quality of service, which was great. Also don't be put off by the lack of parking as there is a big car park nearby you can pay and display at, and it's very reasonable. Would recommend The Lansdowne to all looking to stay in Calne!Guest review bySophieUnited Kingdom

Parts of the town aren’t great - rather run down, lots of empty shops - but the area round the market and St Thomas church is very good. We also found a superb breakfast at The Orangery. Walking by the river is pleasant too. And of course the cathedral is wonderful, although so is St Thomas church with its superb Doom painting and modern font and altar.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The people were friendly and the town was quaint and had everything you could ask for in a charming setting. It's a great place for families, as well as a perfect vacation spot. It's location is central to other charming historical towns just minutes away.Guest review byLaurieUnited States - 10.0
A wonderful historic town well worth a visit for a few days.
A wonderful historic town well worth a visit for a few days. Also an easy commute to Bath via the City's park and ride scheme. Short term car parks are small and often full. However, a very large, longer term car park is located at the railway staion in Zone B. All car parks are free in the evening from 6pm.Guest review byTheTolkUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It's a great town with many interesting shops and places to eat and drink. It has a good vibe about the place. We found an excellent French cafe/restaurant which was very good . We would have gone back for dinner but it was closed on Monday evenings. Pity.Guest review byChris MobbsUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Warminster is a perfect location to see the many sites the area has to offer, the local train station is convenient to Bath, Bristol and Salisbury all worth a visit for a day. We went out twice for an evening meal, The Lamb at Hindon and The Prince Leopald at Upton Lovell, food was fantastic, but make sure you book ahead it can get really busy.Guest review byjaniceUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We were actually visiting the Gloucestershire Vintage & Country Extravaganza on South Cerney airfield, and our three day visit to display our car on our car club stand was fantastic. We drove through the village which looked delightful and probably worth exploring.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The staff were great. The food was excellent.
The staff were great. The food was excellent. The Oktoberfest on the Friday night was great fun with all the community welcoming us. We were upgraded to an apartment which was very big and the bed was very comfortable for my husband, who is 6ft3". But beware of events at the Castle Combe racing circuit as this can cause a long traffic jam with many visitors all trying to get into the circuit at the same time!Guest review byJuliaUnited Kingdom
