Any pub B&B depends on the quality of the team running the business. Nikki and Patrick, ably assisted by their comedic breakfast chef, Lorenzo, ensured our stay was entertaining and memorable. The pub locals and their dogs were friendly too and played their part in the complete package. Hard to believe the team was only put together 6 weeks before our stay. Close to the New Forest. Go there!

Ben was so kind and gives us a lot of information around that area that we wanted. We had a lovely countryside view from the windows of our room. Breakfast was gorgeous! We greatly enjoyed staying at Elderbrook House for three nights. visiting Avebury stone circle, Lacock Abbey and the market towns of Devizes and Marlborough. Thank you for your warm hospitality. I booked out this hotel for family and friends to stay in following my wedding. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful in the booking process and did everything they could to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The hotel only offered continental breakfast, but given that we had booked out the whole hotel, they agreed to do a hot breakfast on a pre-order, which was fantastic! Our family and friends also enjoyed the restaurant and bar the evening before, both areas of which are nicely designed and have a nice ambience. Some of the rooms are quite old-fashioned in terms of aesthetics, but The Lansdowne is such an old hotel, and the majority of the hotel has been recently refurbished. This also didn't impact the level of cleanliness and the quality of service, which was great. Also don't be put off by the lack of parking as there is a big car park nearby you can pay and display at, and it's very reasonable. Would recommend The Lansdowne to all looking to stay in Calne!

Parts of the town aren’t great - rather run down, lots of empty shops - but the area round the market and St Thomas church is very good. We also found a superb breakfast at The Orangery. Walking by the river is pleasant too. And of course the cathedral is wonderful, although so is St Thomas church with its superb Doom painting and modern font and altar.

A wonderful historic town well worth a visit for a few days. Also an easy commute to Bath via the City's park and ride scheme. Short term car parks are small and often full. However, a very large, longer term car park is located at the railway staion in Zone B. All car parks are free in the evening from 6pm.

Warminster is a perfect location to see the many sites the area has to offer, the local train station is convenient to Bath, Bristol and Salisbury all worth a visit for a day. The staff were great. The food was excellent. The Oktoberfest on the Friday night was great fun with all the community welcoming us. We were upgraded to an apartment which was very big and the bed was very comfortable for my husband, who is 6ft3". But beware of events at the Castle Combe racing circuit as this can cause a long traffic jam with many visitors all trying to get into the circuit at the same time!
