- From US$227.33 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 5,500 reviewsThe breakfast and choice was absolutely amazing. The best we have had at a hotel. It was all fresh and constantly topped up. We had not planned to eat evening meals in the hotel, but the food was so good we ate there every night. The room too was fantastic, with plenty of space. Marc the concierge was very knowledgeable about the area and recommended some great walks suitable for us and the buses to get to them. The receptionists were also very welcoming showing us around the hotel and our room on arrival. The location of the hotel is good too, just a few minutes walk from the center and therefore not too noisy. A few days after we left I realised that I had left an expensive item of clothing behind. The hotel kindly arranged to post this home for me. We usually holiday in the Med but with the high temperatures we now get there during summer, decided to try the UK this year. We had such an enjoyable time will definitely be back next summer.Guest review byRogerGuernsey

Windermere is a vibrant town. It has a great choice of restaurants, cafes and bars offering a great range of food genres. It has a lot of independent shops with wonderful window displays and friendly, helpful teams. It has a spectacular lake which is lovely to walk beside. It is also a gateway to other towns in the wider area of the Lake District.Guest review byTriciaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bowness is a very compact, beautiful, scenic place. It is easy to walk around the town & walks around parts of the lake very accessible. Great boat trips available of varying lengths. Easy to get to other towns & villages by car or bus. Masses of eating places for a variety of tastes. Lovely area to view in any kind of weather.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The cottage was in a good location to visit other parts of the Lake District. Narrow roads but not too busy. We ate in the Cottage in the evening but visited the local pub, just a short walk away, for a pre-dinner drink. We bought some wonderful local bacon from the shop. The Shop was surprisingly well stocked. The Cottage is not in Ambleside which was a good thing as there was a Beer Festival the whole weekend we were there and Town was packed. The Cottage is in a perfect location and great for walkers.Guest review byDelythUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fantastic stay as a last minute decision for our family of 5 and the dog. Friendly welcome and freshly cleaned pod on arrival. Spacious enough for us all - even my 6ft4 husband slept well. Pods heated up quickly and held the heat nicely through the night. Toilets and showers were clean and had hooks on the doors for keeping clothes dry etc. We didn’t use the kitchen area but it was clean and spacious. Games room had plenty of seating and a table tennis table but no rackets or ball unfortunately. The campfire area was loved by our children in the evening. Enough parking space and close to lots of local walks and experiences. There were bikes on site that could be hired which would be a great family activity but I’m not sure on the pricing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Pretty hamlet with 2 excellent pubs serving great food.
Pretty hamlet with 2 excellent pubs serving great food. Easy walking area from the hamlet and access to more challenging walking not far away. Away from the tourist traps of the Lake District. Would recommend eating at The Hare and Hounds for upmarket gastro pub food. The Masons Arms also serves good pub food. The Punchbowl at Crosthwaite is a 10 min drive away and is a very good restaurantGuest review bydsabiniUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Excellent location for the frequent Lakeland buses which meant we could bus to one place, walk over the hills or catch a boat, and catch a different bus back. No parking worries. The Spar at the garage is very well stocked.Guest review byJanetUnited Kingdom
