Shout out to the Manager Mr. Seyt who helped us negotiate with our car rental company. He translated for us and we would have been in a bind without his help. Very kind gentleman! Even in winter, the views were breathtaking.
Even in winter, the views were breathtaking. We enjoyed the lush greenery in the evenings, and were surprised by a light snowfall overnight, waking up to a stunning winter wonderland. The scenery was truly picturesque throughout the area. It is not hard to rent a simple small car and drive up here. (Some of the road might have ongoing construction though) While the food options were a bit pricey (as expected in a popular tourist destination), it was a minor drawback. Rize is a beautiful place and quite spread out.
Rize is a beautiful place and quite spread out. Some of the places close to our accommodation were Ayder Plateau, that was simply mesmerizing. Rafting was 10mins away, safe and exciting.
