- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 266 reviewsDespite the hotel rates as a 2 star, it was immaculately clean and tidy. The location was very good being just a short walk to the lovely beach approx 3 minute walk, on the beach there was nice restaurants where they did amazing seafood, this was recommended by the hotel. The hotel is a family run hotel who literally would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. They cared so much and wanted to give as much information as possible. The breakfast was simple but very nice, they had homemade cakes which were very tasty. I would happily recommend this hotel. If I were to return to the island I would definitely book with them again.Guest review byЮлияUkraine
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 20 reviewsThis place has an unbeatable location, just a 5-minute walk from the ferry and super easy to find. Being right across from Avra Beach makes it so convenient—you can literally just walk out and pop over to the sand. The room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Staff were awesome! Aegina is a beautiful island, and I'm definitely coming back. When I do, I'll absolutely be staying here again!Guest review byKasimBelgium

We stayed in the very comfortable harbor area of Aegina Town. Just a 40-minute ferry from Athens' Pireaus port. Ancient sites to visit. Lots of harbor restaurants for beverages and dining. A relaxing way to settle in from international travel before our extended tour of Athens and the Peloponnese tour. Would have been a great wind-down stay afterward too.Guest review byPaulUnited States - 8.0

The beach is the longest sandy beach on Aegina which is predominately lovely sand there are some mixed stones and sand at the far but nothing to bad. The water is shallow and mainly calm wit a big sand bar a few meters out I would say very safe for children The sunbed range in quality and price ranging from 20 euros a set with parasol to 12 euros which obviously also is based on location and convenience to the beach bars and taverna's. Some beds are free if you spend money in the taverna's We loved the beach and clear warm warms that September bringsGuest review byMichael MawsonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Souvala is quieter than Aegina Town but that is not a bad thing. It is more laid back. It has some good tavernas, bars and restaurants. The souvlaki at Theophilos is to die for. With a Greek salad and a small Carafe of wine , two Souvlakis 17 Euros. That's great. There us a,small beach near the small harbour. There is also a another beach slightly out of the town which in high season has sunbeds and a bar. Just a short walk.. Souvala has a good Supermarket Bakery and some other little shops too. Lovely little place. And 15 mins by taxi to.Aegina,Town .Guest review byRosalindUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Like mentioned, 17 days were too long.
Like mentioned, 17 days were too long. But with a car it made a difference. My daughters boys are not young children, they are super active 17 and 14 year old teenagers and the activities my daughter and them did around the island is mindboggling. Snorkeling, scuba diving, renting bikes going all over the island. Climbing the highest point in Moni Island and jumping off cliffs. I am sure they know the island better then a lot of locals. We live in Cape Town, SA and are spoiled by unbelievable scenery, so its often hard not to compare. The time of year we chose was great. Warm nights, hot days and the water amazingly warm.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

It was a quaint place with a nice vibe for walking around at night , especially near the sea at night . There are also some amazing historical sites to visit as-well . If you're looking for a peaceful place to relax and explore , thus is a great place.Guest review bysardar - 6.0

Public transport on the island is not great so personal transport is required. You can see all you need to in 24-48 hours. I’m glad I visited but I didn’t find anything to make me want to return. My travel companion is vegan and it was very difficult to find vegan options on menus, and none that contained vegan protein in the many restaurants in Aegina or Perdika which we also visited.Guest review byDeirdreIreland - 8.0

The water front is much the same as many port town island fronts. Vibrant and lively with restaurants, bars and cocktail/ice-cream parlours. The large marinas are full of small fishing boats, large fishing boats, flotilla holiday yachts, luxury yachts and flying dolphins. Aegina is the home to the best pistachio nuts in the world and they are on sale everywhere, that and local honey. One street back from the front is where the gift shops are and more restaurants. In theory the back streets are pedestrianised, but scooters wizz through them, so take care, particularly at intersections, they don't slow down. At the far end of the port there is a large orthodox churches that is so beautiful, don't miss it.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Agia Marina is great.
Agia Marina is great. I have been there many times and will go back next year. Nikos beach bar is the best place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many places to eat and drink. We weren't looking for nightlife so I have no idea about what is available but the bars were very nice. The sandy beach is lovely and the water is shallow for a long way out so great for children. There are well stocked supermarkets, a great pharmacy and a lovely bakery. Basically everything you need for a simple beach holiday. People are very friendly. A trip to the Temple of Aphaia is highly recommended. You CAN walk (we did) but I wouldn't recommend it if you are not used to really steep hill walking. Taxis and buses will take you there. We always enjoy our stay in Agia Marina and will keep going back.Guest review byCassiGreece - 8.0

In general south part of Aegina is much better than the northern part. Perdika is a really nice place to stay, close to Marathonas, Sarpa and Klima beach (by far go to Klima beach). Marathonas is good for families with young children as the sea is not deep. Probably some more dinning options (other than Perdika fishing port) would be good, but Aegina city center is really close, not more than 15 mins drive.Guest review byIoannis MalliosGreece
