Athens has incredulous history on display, and great food on practically every corner. And friendly people. But it's also a big, very dense city, and very dirty in places. Don't rent a car; the city is already choked with them and parking appears to be an ordeal. If you like or are used to dense urban areas, it's worth a visit.Guest review byJOHNUnited States - 10.0

When we weren't swimming or sunbathing, we spent most of our time in Chania Old Town and the Venetian Port. It does get very busy, but there are lots of gift shops and tavernas to explore. Dont miss the Domenico ice cream shop - amazing flavours, and very entertaining to watch how it's made. Further into the city, you'll find a broader range of shops and small cafes offering tempting Cretan snacks and pastries. Surprisingly, the central bus station has a great cafe with nice take-away cakes and snacks.Guest review bySteven - 10.0

It was different to all the old towns we have visited in our trip- it was straight streets rather than meandering steps up hills. There are hills with steps, but on the outskirts. The shops are mixed up with local and luxury. Heaps of restaurants and bars. The colours are beautiful.Guest review byN. SinclairAustralia - 6.0
The town was buzzing and full of life.
The town was buzzing and full of life. Some excellent restaurants (peskesi a stand out) Beaches were stunning especially when blessed with perfect summer weather. BUT, the traffic is terrible, parking is difficult, road-rules are optional and the lane-ways are very narrow. Visiting Knossos is an absolute must.Guest review byGeorgeAustralia - 10.0

It is very expensive to eat out, so you will need to shop around. If you stay away from the restaurants with a view, you can see a big difference in the prices if you go a street or two below for the same food. Bring runners with you as you will do alot of walking and the paths are not great so no heels. Beware of roads as they do not have the same rules (no rules) as your own country.Guest review byJanIreland - 2.0

Naxos Chora is a wonderful place to visit for a short while.
Naxos Chora is a wonderful place to visit for a short while. The older/medieval part is a labirinth of alleys, well worth wandering around and discovering art galleries and shops hidden away. The front is full of taverners catering for all tastes, but it can get very busy. Alternatively you can walk away from the front to have a calmer meal in one of the excellent family taverners. St Georges beach is nearby, a nice sandy bay, with a long slope out into the sea. There is easy access to the ferry terminals, but a taxi will be required to get to and from the airport.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

As it’s built into the mountains, reasonable mobility is desirable, however it is disable friendly and the taxis are cheap, On site there are lots of steps and inclines to the facilities, as well as lifts, but I’m sure a persons needs could be accommodated to all the pools and restaurants. I’m 71 and managed to walk into town/star beach ok, enjoyed the exercise tbh! Overall the hotel is brilliant for families with children of all ages. I would go back for sure! The town is superb, so much choice for eating/drinking out, shopping good, usual touristy stuff! People are friendly and very helpful.Guest review bySue moUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Crowded with cruise ship visitors but only during mid-point of day. Once we figured out layout, easy to get around. Lots of stairs, so be prepared. All was welcoming. Especially all the tours and guides. Wine-tasting and catamaran tours great. E-bike was a bit more difficult than I anticipated - but probably more about my fitness level - not the tour. Tour guide really looked out for me. Santorini exceeded our expectations.Guest review byKatherineUnited States
