This is not a 10-for-style place. The rooms are fairly basic. But this is Gavdos. An island which is largely closed…especially in May. But this place is the shining light. Lovely welcome. Visiting Gavdos is a unique experience, however the tourist infrastructure cannot be compared to Crete. Consolas Gavdos Studios may not be impressive, but if you are looking for a quiet holiday destination it is the perfect choice. Great location!! Literally a few steps from our doorstep to the sea! A tavern with deliciously prepared fresh fish and veggies from a garden in front of our room!! Great fava and vlita, fried squid, all cooked near perfection. Not for the fancy gourmet lovers, perfect for those that know the true taste of traditional food. Gavdos and Akrogiali definitely surpassed our expectations!
