The hostess, Ms. Katerina was more than welcoming and always helpful. She had the fridge stocked with water for our arrival and also made homemade sweets. The apartment is centrally located in Vathy, where everything is just a walk away! I highly recommend this booking. We stayed at Lazaretto Palace while visiting family on Ithaki. Our ferry arrived very early, before check-in, but we were allowed to leave our luggage there while had coffee and visited with family. We booked two rooms and both were excellent. Everything was very clean. We were given water bottles at check in which was helful. The rooms were very spavious and the beds were comfortable and the shower is large. The balcony view is breathtaking. It was so nice to sit there in the mornings and evenings, looking at the beautiful Vathi bay. The kitchenette had everything we needed, and the fridge was pretty much brand new. We loved the breakfast provided, which included breads, cereals, yogurt, eggs (hardboiled, scrambled, fried) , bacon, sausage, lunch meats, fresh tomato, coffee, milk, and juices. They also had a variety of jams and yogurt toppings. We'd eat our food on the outdoor balcony tables and it was just perfect. Kudos to the chef. It is a short walk to the city center. Vassily, checked on us every day to make sure everything was okay with our stay. He was very kind and welcoming. He also let us leave our luggage after check out until we headed back to the ferry. We would absolutely stay at Lazaretto again.

We loved it. The location was excellent, you walk for 30 seconds and you are right on Dexa Beach. There are sunbeds there (6 of them) that are free for the people that are staying in these apartments . There is also a little canteen for coffee and staff, but it was closed in the morning (maybe because it is the middle of September though). It is 3 minutes by car from Vathy and 10 minutes from the port, but it is also kind of secluded and quiet. There is a private parking which was really important to us because we have a rather large car. The apartment had an amazing view from it's little balcony. Inside, it is equipped with everything it says it has. The room was cleaned every day and it had a very comfortable bed. It was also a lot bigger than we expected. It had two beds, a full dining table, a perfectly functional kitchen and a comfortable bathroom. The staff was kind and accommodating. . All in all, one of the few places we've stayed that were actually better than what we thought from the photos. We would definitely love to visit again

Location, ocean view even from our bed, large clean room, the manner that the furniture and art is blended to create a unique and extremely pleasing ambiance.
Katerina, with her constantly happy and pleasant demeanor and overwhelming attention to detail, was solely instrumental in making our stay perfect and eager to come back....or at least be an ambassador for others to have their expectations exceeded.

Vathi is an unspoilt paradise with many beautiful places to see. The water and beaches are stunning. It is easy to take a boat around the island and also to explore other islands nearby. It is a calm and relaxing environment with plenty of adventures to be had.

Quite location around waterfront, that is closed to cars. Lovely little coves to swim in. Very poor bus service so car or taxi required to get around. Taxi fare from Vathy very reasonable at 45 euros.

Great location, away from congested major towns, fabulous swimming at Polis beach. Great sight seeing walks to the ruins of the Palace of Odysseus. Numerous tavernas at Stavros and the port of Frikes, either on foot or by car. Very relaxing place to stay.

A beautiful harbour and working town, it is a really friendly place with a large number of good restaurants. It wasn’t too busy when we visited in late September. The local beaches are clean with clear blue water. We particularly liked Filiatro beach about 10 minutes drive away which has beach beds for rent and a good taverna. There is plenty of shade underneath the olive trees.

Avra and Mythos were our favourite restaurants.
The 2 beaches at the end of Kioni are just so beautiful, one with a small taverna.

Lovely local village.
Lovely local village. Very friendly people and some great tavernas to choose from. Margarita's is the best cafe! There is also a small museum. Easy drive from here to local beaches. Also 10/15 min drive to Frikes and Kioni.

I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town.
I liked that Vathi is a real town as well as a tourist town. There are however lots of restaurants and coffee bars, many catering for the boating community, as this is a popular stopping place for people cruising round the Ionian on small to bigger boats.
Everywhere within Vathi is very walkable. I found it a bit restricted as a starting point for a solo traveller, as there are no buses, and the tours of historical/mythical sites are private and very expensive for one or two people.

Frikes is a lovely place, but as we were getting towards the end of the season, and what with all the restrictions caused by Covid, 2 or 3 nights could have been better, with a 2 or 3 night hop at the other end of the island perhaps?
Luckily, Aristotelis Apartments were so nice, it didn't matter, and we loved every minute of our stay.
There are 3 nice, very small pebbly coves/beaches between Frikes and Kuoni. The water was so crystal clear you can see the bottom for quite a depth. Snorkelling was real fun. Lots of different fish.
The little beaches each had a long stone built bench you could sit on. some of the bench would be partly shaded by trees. These beaches weren't serviced with showers, toilets or bars. But beautiful, with lovel views all the way to Lefkada and beyond.
