If You dream about a perfect relaxing holiday next to the romantic bays of Amoopi, it is your place. Argo hotel, excellent situated ( less than 5 min walking distance to the beach) offers spectacular views to the sea and the beautiful sunrise. We had a very nice room with terrace, with everything needed and a comfy bed. It is clean( daily service) and silent. Beach towels are included, a big plus. The property has a good and cosy restaurant. What impressed us the most is the staff, very professional and customer friendly, always ready to help. Highly recommended !

First of all the hotel is located above one of the most famous beaches of the island. It is an authentic and typical Aegean style hotel surrounded by the rough landscape of the island. That makes it ideal for people who seek the real character of the island part of Greece. The room - refurbished in the greek minimal style - was very clean and had everything we needed: toiletries, tea/coffee, beach towels etc. Beds really comfortable. Under the old lemon tree and olive trees we had an excellent breakfast with fresh juice, handmade bread and marmalade, eggs cooked in many ways etc. The restaurant was a real surprise for us. We were more than delighted by the dishes, the quality of ingredients and the larger wine list we have ever seen at a greek restaurant! Ingmar, the service manager, made us feel like we were invited at a friend's house. We tried both fish and meat dishes and they were all superb! The prices are fair enough if you consider that the supplies' network is complicated for a remote island like Karpathos. A huge thanks for everything!

The hotel staff is extremely kind and helpful. From check-in to check-out, everyone was professional and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. Special thanks to the reception guys, to Caliopi at the spa, and Manjola at the front desk. The cleanliness throughout the hotel is impeccable. Rooms, corridors, common areas, and the beach are always spotless, providing a sense of security and comfort. Sea view rooms, especially in the new part of the hotel, are fantastic. I was lucky to receive an upgrade; our room was modern, spacious, and well-furnished with a breathtaking sea view. Truly unforgettable. The food is very good. The buffet offers a wide range of healthy, well-prepared dishes with good daily variety, though more fish options would be appreciated. Despite the hotel's large size, the atmosphere is very peaceful (mid-June). The private beach is spacious with plenty of loungers, ensuring ample space to relax comfortably. The location is perfect for those seeking tranquility with everything within reach. Nearby services are convenient, and the pleasant 15-minute walk to Pigadia is great for an evening out or shopping. The hotel/tour operator's excursions are excellent and well-planned, allowing stress-free exploration of the island. The club staff is very nice, making every activity fun and interesting. Possibly the best hotel in Karpathos? I'll definitely be back! The experience was so positive, I can't wait for another unforgettable vacation.

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay. This was perfect for a solo traveler. The hosts were so kind and welcoming and the rooms felt safe. The location is great as well, close to the harbour but not directly on it so it is quiet and peaceful at night.

    It doesn´t happen often that I award an accomodation facility with the highest rating, but in this case I can do it with the best conscience. The studios are simply equiped, but cosy, well mantained and clean, obviously loyal to the local folk style. The balconies provide a nice view over an olive orchard with a bay in the background. The bay, hosting a beach, can be reached on foot within two minutes, other beaches can be found in the center of Lefkos, also within walking distance. Wi-fi works quite well, but sometimes gets slower. The overall positiv impression is further amplified by the landlord and his wife, and older greek married couple, providing a glimpse of the gentle hellenic spirit and hospitality. I hope to get an opportunity to come again.

    Nice hotel, preety quiet atmosphere. Definitely deserves 4 stars. Joanna and her husband were very friendly and helpful. Delicius breakfast with various dishes. The room and bathroom are very confortable nicely decorated, everything is clean. If you like Greek food, then you should not miss the barbeque on Wednesday at the hotel. You won't eat better anywhere in the city. My wife and I enjoyed the hotel and highly recommend it for a holiday in Karpathos

    Venezia Bungalows is a 25 minute walk to the centre of Pigadia. The exterior is very beautiful and well maintained with lots of flowers and greenery. There is a swimming pool. The accommodation is clean and tidy. Maria and the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good. The dinner is excellent with lots of salads, meat and fish. The chef is excellent👏👏👏

    Pleasantly surprised with this hotel as it is 2 stars and so my expectations were superseded. It really is great value for money. Simple but nice rooms and very clean. All you need in them. Nice balcony views. Very friendly staff. Pool is lovely and location very near to town. Overall found this an excellent stay for the price you pay and a bit of a gem.

    Close to the port (however, there is a steep slope in front, but it's natural due to the city's characters). The room was very spacious with a kitchen/dinning table/sofa and had a separate bedroom. The balcony with nice sofa and table (You have a partial sea view although rather far).     The hotel was exceptional. It has an excellent location, everything is spotless, and the staff are super friendly and helpful.     The location is great. The view of Kasos island and the sunsets are breathtaking. Quite place. Central location. Within 30-40 minutes you can reach all beaches. The private pools are really nice overlooking the Aegean sea.

    Not actually in Karpathos Town, but the village of Arkasa. It was a lively small Greek village with everything you could need. Easy walk to neighbouring Finiki. Twice weekly bus to beautiful beach at Kato Lefkos. Great walk to unspoilt coves beyond Finiki along coast path.

    I liked the beach.

    I liked the beach. The sand is soft and the sea calm and shallow. There are few places to eat but enough for us. We had dinner usually at Calypso restaurant. The food was good ant the staff friendly. There is also a cocktail bar named Pebbles which is excellent. they offer very nice special cocktails. they have live music shows every Friday evening. the cocktails are a little expensive but the wine and beer prices ar mostly reasonable. In general Amoopi is a very quiet place. far from the crows and perfect for a relaxed vacation.

    Arkasa is a lovely, quiet (at least in June) town next to...

    Arkasa is a lovely, quiet (at least in June) town next to one of the nicest beaches in Greece and beyond, Saint Nicholas Beach. It is a short drive from the airport and from other lovely beaches, including Lefkos and Finiki, where you can also find excellent fish and seafood restaurants. Arkasa has several nice tavernas, cafes and pastry shops to spend time in, several mini markets, and plenty of parking for visitors. You can also enjoy a beautiful sunset from here. It is about a 20-30 minute drive from the main town, Pigadia, and a shorter drive to villages like Menetes, Pyles and Othos.

    Olympos is a traditional village in the northern part of Kaprathos, about 50 klms from the airport/harbour and it takes about 1:30-1:50 mins to drive there. The view from Olympos is magnificent, especially in the west part, where you can enjoy the sunset. It's very quiet and even in the hottest summer days, it's not hot!

    Kyra Panagia offers stunning views, lovely beach with small stones and warm turquoise water, great food at Sophia’s Taverna, free parking, and a charming church. There are also many beautiful apartments and villas to stay at. Downsides: expensive sun beds, sometimes it can get busy, the road from Pigadia is 20 mins but quite difficult for beginner drivers, and there's only one pricey mini market.

    Lack of taxis, buses, decent beaches were downsides. No ATM, one small shop and unreliable ferry service were others. 2 days if you wanted to visit Olympos would be adequate, 3 at best. The only ATM was a Euronet one in Olympos with the associated rip off charges for withdrawing cash. It's badged as a normal bank machine with just small Euronet badges. Beware.

    We liked it as it was a quieter island than some of the others and we like to discover new places. We ate at Poseidon blue for dinner and breakfast both of which were great . You do need a car or bike unless you get taxis around though. Very windy though on our stay only one day of the 4 was the wind low.

    Good pedestrianized streets through the main shopping area...

    Good pedestrianized streets through the main shopping area make it easy to walk around and some excellent restaurants including Mama Maria's by the port made our evenings really special. Boat trips from the harbour go to some of the best beaches like Apella and Kyra Panagia which you otherwise need a car to reach.

    Amoopi is a very seaside small town on a slope, about 20 minutes drive from the main port town of Karpathos Island, Pigadia. Amoopi has two of the most beautiful calm protected and organized beaches of Karpathos, great tavernas, and a variety of non package deal accommodation options. Best to have a rental car when staying there to easily access the beaches, tavernas, Karpathos port (for boat or ferry trips) and for day trips to other locations on the Island. Our absolute favorite place to eat was Dimitrios Fisherman Taverna.

    Good places: Dinner/ kipos or city view grill Drinks/ retro bar Beach/ finiki Small town, friendly people. Easy to travel around karpathos with car or atw. Public transport goes few times a day.
