The host was incredibly helpful, even offering space in their freezer for our items since the apartment lacked one. The apartment was fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. SloveniaThis is a cozy little house (one of the oldest houses in the village as we were told by the owner) that is beautifully renovated with a nice, big garden area. It has everything you need for a nice stay for a couple of days. The village of Kirkini is a calm place and you can reach the bars and restaurants in a couple of minutes by walking. The appartment is nicely equipped and we were also given some cookies, chocolate spread, nut butter and honey for breakfast which was such a nice little touch - besides of the coffee that was available at the appartment. If you are looking for a calm place to stay, listen to the sounds of nature, gaze at the stars and enjoy the calm vibe of the village while feeling warmly welcome by the local people - then we can only recommend this place.
P.S.: it also had AC and the mosquito tabs. They really thought of everything!

IT IS A VERY SERENE PLACE, WINTER TIME, THE LAKE HAD THE CHARM OF THE GREY COLOURS... GOOD RESTAURANTS AND TAVERNS NEARBY WITH GOOD LOCAL PRODUCTS AND ESPECIALLY BUFFALO MEAT AND DERIVED PRODUCTS. The location overlooking lake kerkini was sublime in September. Easy to drive around the lake from here. Amazing birdsong and you could hear the flamingos from the hotel balcony. 20 minute drive to the lake to get the boat. Restaurants not great here but staff are so friendly. Nicos who was boat owner and guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife. The village is a few kilometres from the lake so transport is needed but there are tavernas and a shop within yards. I would definitely return. The lake in this locality is the attraction. There the locals raise buffaloes, a part of this lake resembles a delta. I saw turtles walking on the side of the road, storks, cormorants and other beautiful animals. I served the meal at FRAGMA.
