One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. In terms of service and excellence. The staff were outstanding going above and beyond to make our stay so special. We loved the complementary ferry transfer to and from the hotel which made our travel a lot less stressful. Breakfast was amazing serving all kinds of delicious food. The rooms were so clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were even greeted with a complimentary drink and snacks when we arrived. The views from the restaurant were amazing offering a beautiful sunset over Naxos. I could not recommend hotel Grotta enough and we hope to be back again soon . ❤️

Not only is the Adriani Hotel a charming and well situated building itself, but the owners and all the staff are extremely friendly and welcoming towards their guests. The self made breakfast exceeds all expectations and all in all its a wonderful place to spend your time on the island. The staff are very helpful and will answer all questions and not only the necessary but beyond. We enjoyed our stay very much and I would return to that hotel if I ever go back to Naxos.

Travel Back in Time

Known for its crystal clear azure waters and impressive winds, the beautiful tourist destination of Naxos is the largest and greenest island of the Cyclades. This unique place is a popular choice with watersports and history lovers.

Composed of Venetian and Cycladic elements, the traditional old town of Naxos (also known as Chora) has an imposing Venetian castle. Built in the 6th century BC and dedicated to Apollo, the iconic marble gate of Portara is located just outside the town, overlooking the Aegean Sea.

Rich in history, folkloric tradition and fine wine, the mountain village of Apeiranthos with its marble houses is one of the biggest villages of the island.     The location is perfect! Just a few minutes from the local beach and also from the old town. The owner, Mr Fanis was great! There was a Supermarket 2 min down the street with everything you needed for the day. Across the street from the Supermarket was Tony's rent a car, where we met great people which rented us a nice Fiat 500 cabrio for touring the island! We also got a discount because we stayed at Hotel Rea.

    It’s the best value for money hotel in Naxos. Lady at the reception was really helpful and gave lot of information about the places to visit at Naxos. The rooms are very clean and tidy.     Our ferry was cancelled due to severe weather. Naxos Chora offer free cancellation up to 3pm on the day of arrival. I notified the hotel before 3pm on the arrival day that we could not arrive on the island & wished to cancel that night. We were told later that a refund was not allowed.

    I’d say 3 days is enough time here.

    I’d say 3 days is enough time here. We stayed where we were as it’s close to the beach and amenities, we didn’t travel elsewhere as it was 25 euro each way in a taxi to the port. We did want to get a quad bike but forgot a listener. Id recommend a few days here and also going to another island and a few days in Athens too. We went to Syros also which was less touristy in a great way.!

We had cocktails and an evening meal every night Naxos Town (Chora) is a 20 minute bus ride away (just 2.30€ one way) and they run half hourly from 8am to midnight. Plaka beach is a 30 minute walk (or on the same bus route from Naxos town). Sunbeds are often linked to the bar/taverna over the road. An umbrella with 2 beds is typically 20€ per day plus a minimum food & drinks spend of 15€ per set

    Mikri Vigla is a quiet town with a couple bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and beaches, but you should have a car / moped to get around. The bus from Naxos Chora is infrequent and drops off at the beach, not the town proper.

    Stelida is a purpose built hilltop penninsula for accomodation and walking distance to a lovely beach if the north wind is not blowing. Only two restaurant options to walk to at night but it has easy access to hill towns and beaches to the south by car. It's out of the hectic vibes of Naxos Town and very quiet at night so a good night sleep is ensured!

    We liked the premises and quiet sandy beach. There is free parking on premise and some very good restaurants nearby. Make sure that when you get the sea view room, you ask for the direct and not the side views room.

    Quiet beach with three Tavernas withing walking distance...

    Quiet beach with three Tavernas withing walking distance plus some smaller food service locations. There is a mini market where you can purchase essentials. It was very windy in June, less so we were told in September. No bus service, we hired a car but if you are prepared to walk up and doen the beach not absolutely essential.

    Near Moutsouna on the eastern coast of Naxos, a small house for two people nestled in the peaceful countryside. In the morning, the sounds of buzzards echo, and you can admire the flights of peregrine falcons in a deep blue sky. In the evening, the bells of goats and sheep create a bucolic atmosphere. Nearby, there are beautiful, secluded sandy beaches (Psili Amnos) and pebble beaches (Azalas). Matthew and Giannis are extremely kind and helpful hosts, welcoming their guests with genuine courtesy and delicious produce from their small garden. We spent 12 truly special days. About 12 km south of the house, from the beautiful beach of Panermos, you can daily embark for the splendid Koufonissi.

    A wonderful place with so much to see.

    A wonderful place with so much to see. A peaceful place full of history. Portara is beautiful both day and night, and even more so at sunset. With a few tours, you can reach Delos, a wonderful island full of history! Near the port of Naxos there are very nice restaurants and pubs for all tastes. The market streets with all the shops are also very suggestive. Tours of the island are also highly recommended.
