Travel Back in Time
Known for its crystal clear azure waters and impressive winds, the beautiful tourist destination of Naxos is the largest and greenest island of the Cyclades. This unique place is a popular choice with watersports and history lovers.
Composed of Venetian and Cycladic elements, the traditional old town of Naxos (also known as Chora) has an imposing Venetian castle. Built in the 6th century BC and dedicated to Apollo, the iconic marble gate of Portara is located just outside the town, overlooking the Aegean Sea.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 338 reviewsIn one word, amazing! It is a beautiful, new, modern and clean hotel. Great location, one of the best beaches of Naxos is only a walk away. You have great beach and sunset views from te pool and rooms. There is a beautiful pool with nice sunbeds, a bar where you can order drinks, cocktails and really delicious food. The breakfast area is outside or inside, but with an amazing seaview. The breakfast is amazing, everything you need is there, they even have homemade jams, eggs, tyropita,... The room is very spacious, modern, new and perfectly clean with great beds. And last but not least, you get a very warm welcome from the staff, and they are all very friendly and helpfull. It's a real family vibe!Guest review byEllenBelgium
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 608 reviewsExceptional location, close walk to the main beaches of Naxos. The hotel is very comfortable, large facilities - nice bedroom with balcony and very quiet. I found it peaceful and relaxing. I enjoyed the overall vibe of the hotel and the very big pool. Definitely a hotel I will return to again. Everything worked well in the room also. Reception very friendly and knowledgeable. They also helped make phone calls on my behalf to book a boat trip. From memory, her name was Maria but she had short hair and made an effort to ensure I was assisted. Very good English skills too and a standout VERY generous breakfast. Friendly hotel staff too, just pleasant all roundGuest review bysamAustralia
- From US$357.03 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 94 reviewsAmazing hotel in a great location, super friendly staff that made our stay as comfortable as possible, spacious rooms even with the baby cot, large and comfortable beds and a good sized private heated pool. Towels for both the pool and the beach were provided and free coffee capsules and tea bags in the room as well as water. Breakfast had a variety of tasty dishes to choose from. A bottle of wine with a cheese platter compliments of the hotel on arrival and a bottle when checking out were really appreciated! Room service was top and the Tanines restaurant worth a visit at sunset.Guest review byAnastasiaGreece

I’d say 3 days is enough time here.
I’d say 3 days is enough time here. We stayed where we were as it’s close to the beach and amenities, we didn’t travel elsewhere as it was 25 euro each way in a taxi to the port. We did want to get a quad bike but forgot a listener. Id recommend a few days here and also going to another island and a few days in Athens too. We went to Syros also which was less touristy in a great way.!Guest review byEleanorUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I recommend hiring a quad bike to explore more beaches and the inland areas. This location is very good for if you have a quad bike as you can travel between the old town and the beaches along the coast on the other side, as well as inland. Quad hire is very reasonably priced and the company we used is very nearby. This is a lovely peaceful area. Groceries are a little expensive and there is a bigger supermarket than the one on the corner that has some more options. There are many lovely restaurants a very short walk from the accommodation, along the beach. A few have seating on the actual sand which is really special and romantic for couples.Guest review byHavard - 10.0

Stelida is a purpose built hilltop penninsula for accomodation and walking distance to a lovely beach if the north wind is not blowing. Only two restaurant options to walk to at night but it has easy access to hill towns and beaches to the south by car. It's out of the hectic vibes of Naxos Town and very quiet at night so a good night sleep is ensured!Guest review byVICTORIAUnited States - 8.0

Mikri Vigla is a quiet town with a couple bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful sunsets and beaches, but you should have a car / moped to get around. The bus from Naxos Chora is infrequent and drops off at the beach, not the town proper.Guest review byDanielUnited States - 10.0

We liked the premises and quiet sandy beach. There is free parking on premise and some very good restaurants nearby. Make sure that when you get the sea view room, you ask for the direct and not the side views room.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Vivlos is conveniently located about ten minutes from Naxos Town and roughly the same to local beaches. There are four or five local taverna's selling simple, good value, Greek food. The bakery is excellent and there is also a small supermarket and butchers. It's a good base from which to explore the island with walking trails marked out from thereGuest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Hotel was difficult to find. It didn't show on Google maps.
Hotel was difficult to find. It didn't show on Google maps. Eventually found out about 100 meters north out of town where one market is directly across the street from another market. The market on the right out of town essentially checks you in.Guest review byJohnBUnited States - 8.0
Naxos Chora is a wonderful place to visit for a short while.
Naxos Chora is a wonderful place to visit for a short while. The older/medieval part is a labirinth of alleys, well worth wandering around and discovering art galleries and shops hidden away. The front is full of taverners catering for all tastes, but it can get very busy. Alternatively you can walk away from the front to have a calmer meal in one of the excellent family taverners. St Georges beach is nearby, a nice sandy bay, with a long slope out into the sea. There is easy access to the ferry terminals, but a taxi will be required to get to and from the airport.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom
