The hotel is very close to a bakery (ideal for breakfast and lunch sandwiches), supermarket and many restaurants (highly recommend visiting Andreas' Family-Askeli Poros best food we had in Poros). It is also close to the best beach in Poros (in my opinion) called Monastiri Beach, there are other ones nearby too but the best one is definitely Monastiri. The hotel swimming pool wasn't working so we didn't have the chance to visit. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, I highly recommend staying here, the facilities were great and there were so many things around to do without having to go the ''centre'' of Poros that was much busier. Hotel is fully complimenting 3 stars, you need to know it is not luxury, but great for family. We did not take there breakfast, but we ate lunch there few times and found it as good price and quality - local kitchen, large portions and very tasty. Also clean and good swimming pool. Room cleaning every day. All rooms has sea view and family rooms are with 2 bedrooms. And checkout at 12:00 :) Tip - there is no need for a car on the island. Nowhere to drive and hard with parking. We had room with balcony, which was awesome as you can sit and watch all the yachts coming in :-) You have the opportunity to take your breakfast from downstairs on a tray up to the room and have it on your balcony, we loved this. Absolutely beautiful view of the city center. Very exquisite atmosphere given by the incredible large number of luxury yachts moored. Very busy and holiday air everywhere around. Beautiful and lively, lots of restaurants and gorgeous boats. We took the car so we could visit the island, well worth it. Monastery Beach was delightful until mid afternoon when it got crowded. We had choice to go to one of three closest islands near...
We had choice to go to one of three closest islands near Athens. Aegina is big and the closest to Athens so quite crowded on weekends where Athenians escape from the heat. Hydra is quite beautiful but a bit expensive, no sandy beaches near center and no transport on island except of horses and donkeys (it is charming, though, worth to visit for one day). So the last choice was Poros, with moderate prices, nice beaches, even free municipal bus, and 5 minutes boat ride to the mainland village of Galatas, which also has great restaurants to enjoy authentic Greek cuisine.Guest review byKA111ERGeorgia
