I’ll come again and book a sea view ☺️ as that was the only room available when I booked staff some of the male staff could use a little more training I think. it may sound like a weird thing to say but all the female staff were EXCELLENT, friendly welcoming happy, helpful, attentive. went out of their way to make my experience a great one. manager is great 💛. the girl with beautiful curly hair was amazing too. and the lady in the restaurant maybe manager? she was very attentive to me and was great! the extra mile it was my birthday and I was on my own. i was given a glass of sparkling wine, the staff wrote happy birthday in flowers on my bedroom floor AND put they put balloons in the room whilst I was having dinner. what a surprise and a gift. so generous and so kind! i was in tears! also I had a massage and they also gave me gifts as it was my birthday! the massage! INCREDIBLE. One night we had a problem with laud neighbours, who was having private part on the balcony and was not letting anyone sleep. Night reception attended issue immediately after reported - well done, very efficient. Food was very good, repetitive, but we always found something we like there - always fresh vegetables, fresh fruit, meat, fish, plenty of side dishes, deserts. All inclusive includes only beer and vine from alcohol - the rest to be paid, but we didn’t mind. Location is good, just 3-5 min to the beach, many shops, restaurants around, mini golf just across the road, car rental next door, Rethymno 1 hour by food, but also bus available, bus stop is located few minutes away from the hotel (we try to take it once but was full and didn’t stop) so we rather walked there. The best, what they have in this hotel are 3 massage armchairs at the lobby, you drop coin of €2 there and get 8 minutes of very pleasant massage, love it! However it exceeded our expectation. Breakfast and dinner were superb, with lots of choices for everything...appetizer, main and dessert. Location was great, close to the sea and to public transportation to the old town and main bus terminal. We stayed 5 days, and were pleased throughout. Flew into Heraklion airport and then to the main bus terminal. Took the bus to Rethymno which cost 7.5 euros and took 1.5 hrs. A beautiful old town with lots and lots of little streets full of beautiful shops and an array of restaurants. Lots to do, lots to see and many different trips and excursions to be had from this location. Streets are very clean, locals very pleasant (apart from the bus drivers......... rude and abrupt). A very good base for very many superb beaches in southern Crete, with a nice beach within the town, some great shops and very good eating options both within the town and the surrounding villages. This is quite an expensive area to stay in, with no chain supermarkets nearby and fully privatized beaches. However, the surroundings are extremely beautiful. There’s a bakery-coffee shop that’s great for local baked goods and budget-friendly coffees and sandwiches. Our main. reason for visiting the area was because we were attending a wedding. I did find that Adelianos Kampos was located near to a lot of pick ups for tours around Crete to allow you to experience other areas around the island. Many places to eat around the area, but none that really stuck out for me that I would recommend. It's a quiet village with very friendly people and along the beach road you very quickly arrive at the next village that has a mini market and 3 or 4 tavernas. It's not for people looking for nightlife and shops. A car is needed to get there and to be able to go to bigger town with shops and other sights of interest. Our favourite places in Rodakino were Korakas beach cafe; Super market Zafeirakis where the lady was friendly and helpful and Nikos & Anna Taverna. Reth is our favourite holiday town.
Reth is our favourite holiday town. We like a bustly town for 2 weeks and this is just right. Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, so plenty to do. We like the fact that it is not a loud party town. The beach is fantastic with each restaurant having their own section of sunbeds - we used Gorgona beach / restaurant - 2 sunbeds and umbrella is 12 euros which is remarkably cheap when we were paying 25 euros at least in Spain and Portugal. You can bring your own food and drink there but can also have beach service or eat in the restaurant, so nice to have the freedom. There is a wonderful supermarket next to the restaurant which sells english papers, magazines, pots of fresh fruit, sandwiches, plus everything else you might need. There is also a wonderful supermarket further along called Fresh Corner which has a good selection of cakes, sandwiches, pizza, fresh juices etc which you can take down to the beach. The sea is very shallow and sandy - it can be a bit windy some days and then the waves are quite big and powerful but ususally the sea is very flat and calm. The open top bus tour is good - 20 euros each but you can hop and off all day and visits the various sites around the town. It takes 90 mins to do the whole route without getting off. The dotto train is fun - 10 euros each - takes 45 mins. The castle is a good place to visit. There is a market twice a week Thursday and Saturday. Thursday it is up by the park on the main road, Sat it is next to the bus station. Its quite small considering the size of the town but has a mix of fruit, veg, clothes etc. There are lots of boat trips you can book. Great selection of bars, restaurants, cafes - with a good mix of cheap kebab type places or traditional food.Guest review bySuzanneUnited Kingdom
