- From US$23.61 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 803 reviewsAbsolutely amazing place, surrounded by the most beautiful nature. There is nothing to do expect going on kayak trips on the river and chilling out by the bar or the hammocks - it is perfect! If you want to rest, this is the place. The dorms were neat - very spacious, protected from bugs and not too hot. I stayed alone in the bed upstairs for the three nights I was there and it was just like having a private room - a crazy cool private room. The staff was really friendly and the food was nice.Guest review byMaria JoãoPortugal
- From US$41.10 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 497 reviewsArriving by boat from Rio Dulce the boat dropped me off right at their pier and departing for Punta Gorda the boat picked me up at their pier. Nice and handy to town. But what made the stay exceptional was the owner Stuart, an American that has been there for decades and knows the area extremely well. Myself only speaking English, Stuart's help with immigration & booking the boat to take me to Belize was above and beyond any place I've stayed around the world.Guest review byRobertNew Zealand
- From US$26.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 704 reviewsThe place is located right at the shore with a pier going into the water, easy to be dropped off with the shuttle boat or get in for a tour. It has a beautiful view over the water and has seating inside and outside. Some of the facilities are a it outdated, but value for money it was perfect. Kitchen staff provides delicious meals, and Luiz is super friendly and goes beyond providing anything you want or ask for.Guest review byMarijnNetherlands
- From US$75.74 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 273 reviewsExcellent wooden cabin room, very cozy and comfortable, enough space and amenities. Location is fantastic and feels very much like part of the jungle. There's even a crocodile in the creek flowing through the finca and joining Rio Dulce. The hotel has its own landing and you can do a great boat trip down to Livingston or up to the lake. Very reasonable price for a great lodging experience. Stayed an extra night!Guest review byUweBelgium

A true hospitality professional (rare in Central America!) & excellent travel advice. She the reason our stay was as amazing as it was! The hotel itself is beautiful, We stayed in the "Enchanted Cottage", which was just lovely. The entire property has charming board walks and paths. The restaurant was ideal - delicious menu!Guest review byTharpNicaragua

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.
Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.Guest review byNoemiUnited States - 10.0
Loved Livibgston.
Loved Livibgston. It has a very chilled and relaxed vibe that's very different to the rest of Guatemala. The locals are so warm and welcoming. We ate at local restaurants and sometimes local drummers came in and played which was great.very easy to get around. If you don't want to walk there's always a tuk tuk near by for only 50Q a person. The area is great for walking along the coast, kayaking, and enjoying different cultures.Guest review bysgibbyUnited Kingdom - 4.0

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!Guest review byAndreaUnited Kingdom - 6.0
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala.
It should be a tourist hot spot in Guatemala. Unfortunately the beaches are covered in trash. I wouldn’t recommend a visit to Livingston unless you’re passing through. If you happen to have some time in Livingston I recommend a trip to Playa Blanca and Siete Altares. The lancha to Playa Blanca only gives you an hour in Siete Altares so we went back the next day. Just take a tuktuk to the bridge and walk. It’s a great place to swim in cool fresh water in the jungle.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0

Unfortunately, I was there during the rainy season - day and night - rain. I would have stayed longer, but everything I had was damp or wet. Hostel is easily walkable from the lancha dock. Or you can take a tuc tuc for 10QGuest review byrosemaryCyprus
